Default Buying 2006/07 Civic - Where to check?

    Dear PW Members,

I saw a 2006/07 Civic (Re-born in urf-e-aam) and the car seems in quite a good nick. However, I wanted to get it checked in detail before I buy it. Personally I am not very good at inspecting cars so I might not be able to implement the various 'checks before buying' threads in PW.

Can anybody suggest where to take the car for a detailed checkup in Islamabad where I can get the engine, transmission, suspension and electronics checked? Somebody told me that original mileage can be checked using some gadget even if the meter is reversed.

Any tips in this regard will be very helpful as I am planning to finalize the deal tomorrow.

    Thanks in advance.

most of the reborns have faulty power steering, engine foundations, pulley tensioneer. check the front steering bushes or 'hissa'. catalytic converter should be without any blockage! no ECL! rest no other issues on the car.

Thanks @cooldevil. I spoke to Honda 3s in I-10 and they said they'll check the car for Rs. 2000. Going to take car there later today. Just that they said they can't verify car mileage.

Anybody has any idea on where car's mileage can be verified?

mileage doesnt matter that much! condition matters the most! honda engines can easily do 3-4lac kms if driven properly and periodic maintenance has been done! kindly share the pics of the car also!

I didnt take it to Honda 3s, found another one in I10 for the purpose. And he mentioned that tensioner mein masla hai, steering box mein play hai and I don't remember the third issue that he mentioned.

Lastly he opined that there is a lot of paint in the car. So dropped the idea. Bought a very clean X Corolla instead AH
