    Question D15b Head Swap.

    Initially I Planned for B16 Swap in my Civic 1995. After skimming through the Market couldn't get a good engine for reasonable price. I am running D15b (EXI) Carbi converted right now. I am planning to swap the head and Convert it to D15B 3 stage Vtec. Is it possible?? How may I proceed??
    Plz give other possible options. I actually want a reasonable Performance car that run on cng as well. Is it possible to Swap an F18b to civic 95?? Whats the availability of this engine??

    where are you located?

    Like I said, 3 stage engine is a very good engine as confirmed by users all over the world. However, it is only good when properly swapped and wired.

    My wiring was done by someone who knew what he was doing, and started the car, but he hadnt experienced this engine before. It was my fault not to use any known wiring guy.

    Thats why i said you will need the best wiring guy so that everything is done perfectly do get all components of the car working. My speedo doesnt work and therefore vtecs dont engage. There is work still required in my car but unfortunately due to time constraints I havent been able to sort things out.

    All you need is a good swap and wiring guy, and you are good to go with the 3 stage. If you find a wiring guy like mine who will just get your car started and running, then you will face complications. If you have doubts, then just go for a simpler swap.

    Just an update to my previous mileage figures, I filled up Rs. 1000 petrol (12.9 Litres) when the fuel needle started touching the End line, and now after 115km, the needle is very close to the End line. As informed earlier my speedo isnt working so cannot know the actual KMs, but using Google maps, I kept track of all my running and this has totalled to 115km. This means I am getting a fuel average of 8.9km/Litre. This is not bad at all considering my car isnt properly tuned.

    @Maverickiz3d

    Didnt you get the uncut wiring loom and ecu with the engine?

    I dont recall running into any wiring issues during my swap. It was all just a plug and play matter

    nopes. Wiring was cut. ECU plugs and wires were intact. Reference pic on this page: https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/civ...-engine-swap-6

    It was probably plug and play for you because you already were running an EFI car. I was on carb.

    No wonder you had a pita swap... I did not swap the engine till i was sure that uncut wiring was available.

    I am in Khi. Got engine from Imran at Gharibabad. Contact: 0321-8221732

    The person who swapped is at Chota Gate, near Airport. Electrician also there, which I wouldnt recommend.

    i can safely say my car does quicker than that, especially with no speedo working and no vtec engaging

    Why don't you hook scanner to you car your cars VTEC problem looks like a vss error to me

    No DLC in my car to connect to any scanner

    However, the vss installed in the transmission is 2 pin, whereas the wires coming to the vss are 3 pin. The connector is the same. See attached pictures.

    D15b Head Swap -1601059D15b Head Swap -1601060D15b Head Swap -1601061

    So I am assuming that this is the problem and that VSS needs to be changed. I might have to go to shershah for this, which is the only reason I havent had it changed due to time constraints.

    Engine was bought from shershah with complete uncut wiring loom and ecu.

    Swap was done by Sabir at Jamshed road.

    As for the performance, never timed the 0 to 100 kmph.

    Before Concluding I want to ask a few questions more. What changes are needed in the Fuel tank when I swap my Motor with D15b 3 stage Vtec?? May I get a fuel tank that has the floating efi fuel pump option?? Moreover Any Comments over;
    D16z6,D16W9 and D17 series??

    gys my civic 95 with d15b3...have an issue with ac f some expert can help.... when i swithc on ac the car becomes too heavy sort of and jhatkai type marte hai ... had shown to mechanic he adjusted race from the back black screw but still the problem persist... can anyone have any idea what the problem can be... m driving it on petrol since long and pehlai kabhe cng pai bhe yai problem nahe de thee...
