    Default Electrical problem in new Civic

    Salam

    I posted a thread earlier on this topic, don't know why I can't add a reply to it. anyhow here is link to it for reference

    An update to it is that there is some fault with the Digital speedometer of the car, may be the sensors for it have not been installed properly or whatever but it gives false readings. A friend saw one standing at a red light with its speedo displaying 1 and right before launcing on green light it turned to 0. so thats another one.

    ^you've had the new civic for 22 years???????

    @hsnmz
    seems that the sensor which sends info to the speedo is faulty or if you have an auto that your torque converter is possibly damaged which means that on standstill it is actually slipping.

    shouldn't this be covered by the warranty?

    @hsmz.
    Take it honda Asap.
    The only thing i noticed in my civic is that its a bit slow for example it was showing hundred than all of a sudden it changed to 110 than 120 than 130.I mean i was speeding alright but why was it jumping the digits i mean i know a civic doesn't acclerate so fast.

    @docebzz and hsnmz,

    That "buzzing" is the immobilizer, not any electrical fault. Listen carefully it comes from near the ignition when you turn the key. It is the immobilizer resyncing with the key.

    Now as far as the speedo reading goes, it is not faulty unless something is broken in your car. Haven't noticed the speedo problem at all in my car.

    ^ although if the buzzing causes the car NOT to crank within the first try, that means somethings wrong with the immobilizer module.
