Exclamation CIVIC EXI PROSMATIC ; GEAR CHECK LIGHT ; Blinking D

Bought exi prosm. 2001 today. It has problem in transmission and im afraid it might result in damage to gear system.
    1. D light keeps on blinking after gear 2 I think.
    2. Shifting is very unusual.
2.1. While Accelerating, gear 2 goes on for a high rpm and shifts to next gear very late, which makes a front jerk. (not so harsh, but should not come in auto transm.
2.2. Once in higher gear. Lets say someone comes in front, I lift foot from acc-padel. and grab it again, OR give a sligt touch to break in order to reduce speed a bit. This makes the wheel shift to lower gear, which is my car does in a very ackward way. It shfts into 2 from 3 (I think) and makes a huge jerk like someone switched down gear 2 if he is going in speed of gear 3. And mediately aftr this shft, It goes back to 3, and back to 2. and back to 3 with jerks.

I AM SURE OIL NEEDS CHANGING, PLZ TELL ME WHICH NE SHOUD I USE. IM USINNG ZIC IN COROLLA.
IS THERE A PROBEM IN SPEED SENOR? IF YES, WHERE CAN I RELACE IT.

Zic ATFs are Dex III and Dex VI clones; they are used in hydraulic shift transmissions.

7th gen and up Civics have electronic shift transmissions; they need an HFM (highly friction modified) ATF. Using Dex III in them will cause irregular shifting behaviour and transmission damage.

i am not expert just found few things related with this code hope it helps a bit to solve the issue

Common Problems That Trigger the P0720 Code

    • Defective Output Speed Sensor
    • Defective Shift Solenoids
    • Defective Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
    • Defective Valve Body
    • Dirty transmission fluid that restricts the hydraulic passages
    • Defective Output Speed Sensor wiring or connector

P0720 Diagnostic Theory for Shops and Technicians
When diagnosing a P0720 code, it is important to record the freeze frame information and then to duplicate the code setting conditions with a test drive. Pay close attention to the Output Speed Sensor vs engine load, throttle position, RPM, and road speed because a P0720 can be difficult to detect. If the signal is erratic or the values don't seem to make sense, then you may have verified the problem.
