    Why is my Honda Civic ES 2005 making a whining noise on cold start?

    It makes a strange whining noise until the temp. gauge reaches half
    It happens on every cold start
    It NOT the screaching sound of a belt
    Sound like a super charger with low pitch sound

    belt slip
    use grease
    if doesnt work, slightly tighten it up
    if still persists replace
    Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....
