Default Honda fully synthetic engine oil

Honda 3S dealership sells Honda engine oil carrying label "fully synthetic" (3.7 L) for around Rs. 2400. While Caltex and Shell fully synthetic oils (4 L) sell in the range of Rs. 3500-4000. The question arises whether Honda is selling semi synthetic oil with marking of fully synthetic ?

Default Honda fully synthetic engine oil

There is a range of fully synthetic oils available in the market
The oil honda is selling is repacked total quartz 5w-30 SN grade, which total claims is fully synthetic
total itself is selling this oil in 4Liter packs at almost 2.7k, shell 5w-30 SN grade 4L pack is available at almost the same price.
If you look at the viscosity 5w-40 SN grade in either Zic or Total, you will find them in the price you have mentioned.

Viscosity and grades are bit misleading. You can get 5W30 viscosity and SN grade in both semi synthetic and fully synthetic oils. So you have to look for fully synthetic label as well.

By the way Honda fully synthetic is of lower grade, i.e. SM as compared to Shell, which is SN.
