Default Buy 2015 Civic now or wait for the new model

I am thinking about buying the current Honda Civic (2015) Vti Oriel Prosmatec. I am wondering what are the pros and cons of buying the current model vs waiting for the new one (does anyone really know when it would come out). I intend to use the car for another 5 years or so.

The wisest of all the opinions out there would be to wait for the new civic.

Depends on how urgently you want a car. If you need it to commute daily or for domestic work then better to buy now. If already have a car and can wait then it is better to wait some time and see if the new model will arrive.

Their is no new Civic before 2018. If you can wait another 3 year wait happily.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

New model will have turbo with 1.5 L engine. Much more horsepower with better fuel efficiency.

chances are a new civic will come in late 2016 or 2017, if you can wait till then, good enough, if not, go for the current one. A better option could also be to buy a corolla for now and sell it when the new civic comes

    Default Resale value

    thanks for all the replies.

What I specifically wanted to know was that if I buy now (for 2586000) vs if I buy in September (for more than 2586000) what will be the relative impact on resale value after 5 years? The people at the dealership told me that I would be at a loss if I got the current one and wanted to sell after 1 or two years but if I want to sell after 5 years it won't make a difference on resale.

Also, I heard that Honda has an upgrade program where you just pay upgrade price when the new model comes in? Is there such a program and how good is it?

You would still loose quite a lot comparing new an old. If the new car looses say 150k in 4 years. This one will loose 300k in 4 years.
