    Default 2005 civic fuel filter

AOA everyone. Hope all of you are doing fine. The fuel filter of this particular model is located near the rear left wheel and is supposed to be cylindrical in shape, if I'm not wrong. As shown in the pictures below, it had a flying....saucer like shape. It has 2 pipes on it. An inlet and an outlet I presume. I just wanted to make sure whether this is the place where the fuel filter is found. If so, then this is obviously not the correct fuel filter that should be there. And does anyone have an idea how much an oem fuel filter costs? Thanks.

Didn't the pre facelift model have it under the seat. I'm from Lahore. I'll upload the pic again.

Thanks for clearing that up. So when exactly should it be changed? And do you have any idea what the thing in the picture is?

my colleague is 100% sure it was under rear seat (06 exi) ....... he bought it from my cousin. car was almost 100,000 km's and filter never changed. i scared him, if filter chokes, pump will die, so he got it done next thing.

in the thread majority say its under the fender area as you have shown
and 1 guy in the thread claims they never gave a filter in the later model

but it seems they gave 2 different fittings. under rear seat and inside fender area

Ok so with that out of the way, is the wrong fuel filter installed? Because as @Xulfiqar mentioned it's supposed to be cylindrical.

There are two kinds of filters in the civic u own (maybe a third kind too before the injectors, i dont know) one is the fuel filter that is installed under the seat and the other is a charcoal filter that is present near the fuel tank lid (not sure of its place)

Yeah I guess I should stop trying to figure out what it is and get it replaced.
This is the shape of the fuel filter that should be there.

Have you changed the fuel filter? Only filter or also the pump? And how much did it cost?

No I haven't changed it yet but will try to get it replaced this week In sha Allah. The fuel pump won't need to be changed as it isn't giving me any problems.

    Assalam Alaikum,

Brothers need help from u guys.........i have civic 2005 exi manual.......lot of things done to keep its accelration/pick up to mark.

    1. car is scanned multiple time(every time it gives the error of air filter sensor). Sensor grip changed multiple times and issue resolved for few days only.

    2. throttle body serviced twice and issue resolved for few days only.

    3. opening up and cleaning the MAP and air filter grips temporarily solve the issue.

    4. Tappets never done. Engine though is noisy but mechanic not willing to do it.

    5. i got its fuel pump out and the mechanic says fuel filter(the one under the fender) should be clean as the ship like net structure connected to fuel pump is clean.

the issue is delayed response and sluggishness of the car and car touches 100 with loud noise seems as if driving mehran.

plz suggest any good mechanic near bahria town rawalpindi area?

Mine is Civic EXI 2005 and my mechanic told that there is no fuel filter, it's just a fuel pump and a net filter. Do you also feel jerk when accelerate with light pedal in 3rd/4th gear.

yes u can say that bit of jerks.......the issue get resolved for few days when change the grip of air filter sensor(sensor not changed) scanner always show air filter sensor fault but the issue is never resolved forever.....the pump under the seat is also clean.....last thing that could be done is to change the air filter sensor..

No fuel filter! That's absurd. You ought to never let a mechanic like that touch your car.
