    Default Civic 2005 7th gen obd port

    Dear all

    I need to know the location of obd port of civic 2005... plus if someone can guide me, will elm 327 obd work on civic

    It's under the steering wheel, close to the fuse box. I don't know about the obd scanner you mentioned. But if it's an obd 2 scanner it should work.

    I don't think there is anything special. The port is universal.
    Do share your experience with the scanner and kindly tell us from where and for how much did you get it from?

    I'm planning to buy it from aliexpress, some chinese eshop... it's a very simple diagnostic tool, primarily for reading out engine check codes and some real time info

    the port may or may not be universal but I'm talking about something else.. every data transfer port uses some kind of protocol for communicating with the host... i was talking about that...

    Anyways I'll share if i get hold of some info regarding it

    Yes it does work. Tried and tested using Torque (Android app) and ELM 327 scanner.

    Haris can you guide me process. I've also purchased OBD2 elm 327 from ebay but it isn't working. I've Honda civic 2002 Model. The error i get is "connection to ecu failed"
    I'm using Torque pro (also tried torque lite)

    The car's key must be in the 'on' position/ 2nd position, then connect the obd scanner to the port. The ecu should get connected after that.

    I'm using TorquePro for android with ELM327 OBD2 Device. You can get one from eBay and/or aliexpress.

    Torque Pro works fine. Just leave it on auto protocol. I have it connected to my android HU permanently.
