Reborn 2011 55,000 KMs
I noticed low chuk chuk sound along with low grind that could be felt through the steering while driving 40 and above few days ago. I was not sure what it was so I took it to a Honda 3S workshop. We went for a drive with the their senior guy to figure out the problem. He could not hear the sounds I pointed out no matter what, but anyway insisted to get my brakes cleaned. I said ok, we went back to the shop, they put the car on the lift.
Now the guy working on the car spun all the tires while the car was on lift to hear any strange noise, he didn't feel anything abnormal. In the meantime the senior guy came back and had a go spinning the tires. He pointed out a tire and said this one's bearing has problem. He said the whole hub needs replacement and also should get the brakes serviced(Rs 1500+) or better get the pads replaced(Rs 16,000+). I was not convinced that brake pads have anything to do with it. I asked him twice if he was sure about the hub replacement, he said yes and in fact insisted that I must get it replaced.
Anyway, got the hub replaced, paid Rs. 10,000 including the labour and went for a drive. The sounds were still there but it was late so after driving around for a while went home.
Next day, which is today I went back after the Jumma and told that senior guy that sound is still there. So their most senior guy along with the guy who worked on the car yesterday, we all went for a test drive. This guy really made an effort, really tested the car and announced that there is nothing wrong with the car and the sounds are normal. He further added this is just road noise and the sound I hear could be from the tyres. We pulled over and he inspected the tires. What he hadn't noticed before that I had CCC5 tires on with just 7000 kms on them. He checked the tires and said "Tires to app ne achey daley howay hain". So I was like... now then ?
He had no answer but "bus app ka waham hai, gary perfect condition main hai, A one bhag rahy hai". I was wondering what the hell and what do I do now, even when I pointed out the noises they couldn't hear anything weird.
So after 15-20 min drive we arrived back at the shop. I asked them about the hub they changed, are they going to take it back and put back on my old one which I still had in the boot, they said no, no returns.
So the issue now is that they changed the perfectly working hub for no reason and they don't want to take it back and refund the money. What the hell ???
The senior guy who tested the car yesterday was not convinced while on test drive that there were any sounds but when we got back he told me get the hub replaced with a new one. Now that the problem is still there, they don't want to take the responsibility of false diagnosis. They changed the hub for no reason.
I had be somewhere so I came back home. I will raise this issue with management next week. In the meantime just wanted to share and find out if anyone else had any similar problems and how should I approach this.
Rs. 10,000 is a not a small amount that one could say "challo chadoo jee, koi gal nai".
