    Default Civic 1999 prosmatic

    Dear members

I have bought a honda civic 1999 prosmatic with 1.6L single vtec. Previous owner was running zic 5w20 fully synthetic. However I think it is not suitable for the weather in pakistan and want to Switch to liquimoly. Someone Suggested me LM 5w30 special tec AA (asia america).

    I seek your valuable advice?

99 auto's are not known as prosmatic...2001+ auto's wr prosmatic transmission

yes 5-30 is a better choice as it covers a wider range

Thanks for clarification. My concern is whether to switch from fully synthetic to semi synthetic? And does 5w30 covers our weather temperature range ?

well if the mileage is high/engine is old
moving from synthetic to semi synthetic (and going for quicker oil change) is actually better

but yes if the car is not giving any trouble on the oil it is on(no need to switch)
