Default 2005 EXi Prosmatec - D3 does not engage

    Solution
    Asalaamialaikum,

I just got a Civic '05 EXI Prosmatec earlier today and the car is in sound condition, engine has great power, and sound.

    The gears are labeled, D-D3-2

When I aim for D3 it misses without any hesitation like the gear doesn't even exists and goes to 2. Next to the RPM Meter the light never turns on for D3 ever, just D or 2.
(Also, the way the gears align with the labels, the "2" is in between D3 and 2. Like D3 is mechanically missing.......)

I called the seller and he gave me some story about car having a Japanese Gear Swapped...

I haven't had the chance to goto a mechanic yet, will be doing so tomorrow but I wanted to ask here too if anyone has some idea about this.

    Any help would be appreciated!

So the lever doesnt click into D3 or it does go to D3 but the light doesnt turn on and car doesnt move.

Never heard anything like this. probably some jugar during a swap.

Its like D3 doesn't exist. No click no light. Just goes to next one.

Went to Mechanic and he told me the same, that it's a Japanese engine...

    WTF...

The engine # is same as one on book (passport copy) , which is same on the old book.

The seller must have swapped a Japanese engine & transmission. I wonder if he had the old engine number stamped onto the replacement engine? Also check to make sure transmission is not CVT.

Hmm.. Odd. Maybe they swapped the transmission only.

Car has pretty darn good Pick. But I don't know how to tell if it's CVT. I had a Vitz 06' before and it's CVT and this car's shifting is nothing alike.

Going to lahore tomorrow and will be checking with my Honda ka Kera friend and his mechanic. Will let you guys know!
