    Default ABS Unit replacement cost

So, I have gotten my car repaired but as it turns out, car's ABS unit needs replacement - at least that is what Honda Classic Islamabad folks are telling me.

They're quoting me its price as PKR 93,360. Is that correct? Civic's ABS Unit is worth 1000 USD?

Yes, it's the correct price; at least that's what workshops charge for a 7th gen's ABS replacement.

That is a bargain compared to what price the OP is quoted. I think OP has 9th gen civic.

That's not a bargain, that's the price for an "Allah Tawakkul" used unit. It may or may not work. The ABS unit is something that you absolutely shouldn't cheapen out on.

Man up there is claiming it worked upto 1.5 years then he sold his car. It is not necessary that the cheaper option is the worst. Sometimes even the expensive stuff fails. You just have to be lucky and have a know how of what you purchase.

Everyone have its opinion. But still I think it's a bargain. One can buy in 6k (how much unit costed me) if it doesn't work through it out and change again. If I do it every 6 months, its still a bargain to me.
And seriously 100k part on a 700k worth car

Why not just bypass the abs. At the end abs adds up in the stopping distance. It will be a cheaper solution too.

Still bro. If I can buy something with 80% risk of turn out faulty, but in 6k, still I will go for it and don't spend 100k on it for being 99% sure

HONDA dealers r all thieves. I went to change front brake shoes of 2008 oriel at Honda dealer in Peshawar they told that 7000 is price of shoes and 6500 will b labor charges. I came to saddar n bought japanese shoes from chaudry autos for 1400 and 200 were labor charges.they worked excellent for 2 year untill i sold car.

No doubt that there are some parts which cost sometimes hell lot at Honda than the local market. Rs. 260/- (per pair) Honda guyz quoted me for a simple rubber stopper of mud in the rear wheel's shied. And in the market the pair cost me Rs. 10/- so calculate the variance percentage. I know it would be of inferior quality but you have to decide in what parts you can compromise the quality and on which parts you can not.

Ah, so it does cost that much. I thought they were actually trying to rob me dry. And this happened after a minor accident, so .. bah! Anyway, bad luck, I guess. It's a 9th gen civic though. And I don't plan on compromising on ABS.
