Default Project Reborn 8th Gen Civic 2007

*Final results, few before & after starting from Post#315 onwards, cost edits at bottom of this very post#1*

Dear All, I had been looking for a good trouble free car for home use. As always, prices are insane around. Have sold & bought many Reborns. When selling, you don't get a good offer & when buying, you can't find a good car in reasonable price. Repainted cars are also overpriced.

I'd rather get a scratched faded car which hasn't been earlier repainted instead of buying an already repainted/touched car & God knows what underneath that make up to save money properly if I have to be budget conscious. If you should then save properly & if not then spend without thinking.

My mind frame was to save money as this will be a run around car for school & market duties.

I got my hands on a 2007 Oriel Prosmatec with originally 120000 on the clock (as maintainence book is there) almost in original paint with 2 rear pieces sprayed. Interior looks new, apart from detailing required & drive is exactly what a well maintained Reborn should be, a real charm. Everything in perfect working form, from lights to ac to driving experience.

THE CATCH IS: some paint is faded, scratches/raggar somewhere. In a nutshell it's almost original but dull in looks. I fell for it as price i managed to bargain was unbelievable even by standards of an accidented repaired car

Will take delivery & immediately give it for bake painting. It's kind of a project car in terms of restoring the looks back to charming.

It's called Caliber, interface is good. Same as Dellson and AVT. Stay away from RockStar. Has a very poor quality. RockMars was best but isn't available anywhere.

End result is very good. What do you reccon all the effort and money spent, was it worth it. I mean the time and effort you personally put in this scorching heat, how much that costs, 1 lac at least I think.

Excellent paintjob. Another session of wet sanding will eliminate the slight wavy reflection and will bring it to factory non wavy finish.

To be honest, in a nutshell: YES.
Now everytime a look at it there is a level of satisfaction I have. All the available cars in market were mostly ones with touch ups already. And who knows what kind of a paint was used because even if the finish is good on such cars the material quality usually ends up changing shade, color and finish in a few months.
Suppose I bought a car for 1250, I would have still needed to spend money on it to bring it to my taste and a perfect look. New tyres, DVD system, interior, bumpers etc and easily would have spent at least 60 thousand on it. So it's better I rather took extra advantage of a car's deteriorated condition
The idea of a car being perfect according to my taste is a final result that I look for.

Yes, the previous pictures were with a single stage of sanding and compound. Will get that done further after another month or so.
