Default Project Reborn 8th Gen Civic 2007

*Final results, few before & after starting from Post#315 onwards, cost edits at bottom of this very post#1*

Dear All, I had been looking for a good trouble free car for home use. As always, prices are insane around. Have sold & bought many Reborns. When selling, you don't get a good offer & when buying, you can't find a good car in reasonable price. Repainted cars are also overpriced.

I'd rather get a scratched faded car which hasn't been earlier repainted instead of buying an already repainted/touched car & God knows what underneath that make up to save money properly if I have to be budget conscious. If you should then save properly & if not then spend without thinking.

My mind frame was to save money as this will be a run around car for school & market duties.

I got my hands on a 2007 Oriel Prosmatec with originally 120000 on the clock (as maintainence book is there) almost in original paint with 2 rear pieces sprayed. Interior looks new, apart from detailing required & drive is exactly what a well maintained Reborn should be, a real charm. Everything in perfect working form, from lights to ac to driving experience.

THE CATCH IS: some paint is faded, scratches/raggar somewhere. In a nutshell it's almost original but dull in looks. I fell for it as price i managed to bargain was unbelievable even by standards of an accidented repaired car

Will take delivery & immediately give it for bake painting. It's kind of a project car in terms of restoring the looks back to charming.

The previous trunk was already repaired poorly. Thats the only reason I changed it. Wanted it to be crisp.
The reason I bought an imported trunk was availability. All local ones available at Bilal Gunj were also repaired. But the imported ones were in non repaired new like condition.
The only difference is presence of a key lock which is missing on the imported trunk. Didn't mind not getting a key option. Though my denter said he can make a hole, told him not to as finish, fitting and water sealing tendency of a self carved key hole could go wrong. The trunk also had insulation for which the shopkeeper was asking 3000 extra. So didnt get the insulation which he took off.

By the way after adding the body kit you must upgrade to Oem 16s. My problem was budget and rough usage or else would have considered them

I hope fellows will be able to gain information from the process on this thread. Because despite searching and googling I wasn't able to find prices, references and sources of what exactly can be done and how.

    Sir about the shoot:
Problem 1, met Ahmad Yar bhai yesterday as he has to yet once again wetsand, compound, polish and wax the car. Ahmad bhai has to bless his charm on the interior and exterior both. But due to short Ramzan timings and less work force he has at the moment. Detailing session with Ahmad bhai has been delayed.
Problem 2: @incognito59 has offered to do the shoot, but he is leaving town (probably with his camera) and will be back in August.
Therefore despite all my desire for putting a cherry on the top with detailing and photoshoot, I'm gonna have to ask for some time and apologise for the delay. Would really appreciate the acceptance of my apologies and delay.

Am I right in assuming the Civic is your daily runner and Corolla is for dad? Most of the time

So you are the culprit... Lolz...
No, actually I requested him to wetsand my car again, and since he has less workforce for the job nowadays that's why we had to postpone. Wetsanding alone needs many hands and time.

Yes my painter did wetsand the car. And compounded twice with a gap of week. But the typical painter style compound polish.
Since I was monitoring the whole process I got extra amount and some extra coat of hardener & lacquer (clearcoat) compared to what normally should be done. Due to the reason that I will be having extra margin to play with cutting and compounding in future and a longer lasting finish.
The painters are usually not as good with cutting and detailing like a professional detailer is. So despite the wetsanding done earlier I still plan some more wetsanding for an even more plane finish totally eliminating the orange peel. 3M sanding, then compound, then polish and waxing all done with premium products such as available with people like Ahmad Yar bhai and his professional techniques to bring superior looks and finishing.
The paint part has been done perfectly and even Ahmad bhai was stunned M.A. The paint rejuvenation and conditioning now needs to come in place which no workshops can do.
