Default Project Reborn 8th Gen Civic 2007

*Final results, few before & after starting from Post#315 onwards, cost edits at bottom of this very post#1*

Dear All, I had been looking for a good trouble free car for home use. As always, prices are insane around. Have sold & bought many Reborns. When selling, you don't get a good offer & when buying, you can't find a good car in reasonable price. Repainted cars are also overpriced.

I'd rather get a scratched faded car which hasn't been earlier repainted instead of buying an already repainted/touched car & God knows what underneath that make up to save money properly if I have to be budget conscious. If you should then save properly & if not then spend without thinking.

My mind frame was to save money as this will be a run around car for school & market duties.

I got my hands on a 2007 Oriel Prosmatec with originally 120000 on the clock (as maintainence book is there) almost in original paint with 2 rear pieces sprayed. Interior looks new, apart from detailing required & drive is exactly what a well maintained Reborn should be, a real charm. Everything in perfect working form, from lights to ac to driving experience.

THE CATCH IS: some paint is faded, scratches/raggar somewhere. In a nutshell it's almost original but dull in looks. I fell for it as price i managed to bargain was unbelievable even by standards of an accidented repaired car

Will take delivery & immediately give it for bake painting. It's kind of a project car in terms of restoring the looks back to charming.

The estimate with all Sikkens material including primer, paint, lacquer and hardener added by charges for paint booth is 45k. The painter is behind showrooms of DHA Lahore. His name is Shahid. For using paint booth the car will be taken to Township as this guy doesn't have it here but will use someone else's paint booth.

This estimate is just for paintwork, the car needs a new trunk as previously the trunk has been poorly repaired and painted. Have been quoted 10k for the trunk but will try to bring it down to 7-8k

Nice project, haven't really seen an reborn restoration project here. Looking forward to the updates. Best of luck for the end result.

I'd suggest you to consider the OEM 16" Alloys as well. Even though the Oriel rims look good, in my opinion these 16" OEM look even better.

Yes Sir they sure do. To be honest these Oem 16's have always been my wish for putting in a Reborn. But due to the fact i want to stay low on budget for this domestic duty driver car, i am preferring to save every unnecessary expense. (Obviously without any compromise on quality)
I first checked the same option. These Oems along with Yoko's 205/60-16 are costing me 35+42=77 while Oem oriel rims with 195/65-15 Yoko's are costing me 22+28=50. (Subtraction amount of old existing 16's is constant in both)
So not sure if i will be in the mood to spend extra 27. Will be saving that to get In dash Navigation TV.
