Default Project Reborn 8th Gen Civic 2007

*Final results, few before & after starting from Post#315 onwards, cost edits at bottom of this very post#1*

Dear All, I had been looking for a good trouble free car for home use. As always, prices are insane around. Have sold & bought many Reborns. When selling, you don't get a good offer & when buying, you can't find a good car in reasonable price. Repainted cars are also overpriced.

I'd rather get a scratched faded car which hasn't been earlier repainted instead of buying an already repainted/touched car & God knows what underneath that make up to save money properly if I have to be budget conscious. If you should then save properly & if not then spend without thinking.

My mind frame was to save money as this will be a run around car for school & market duties.

I got my hands on a 2007 Oriel Prosmatec with originally 120000 on the clock (as maintainence book is there) almost in original paint with 2 rear pieces sprayed. Interior looks new, apart from detailing required & drive is exactly what a well maintained Reborn should be, a real charm. Everything in perfect working form, from lights to ac to driving experience.

THE CATCH IS: some paint is faded, scratches/raggar somewhere. In a nutshell it's almost original but dull in looks. I fell for it as price i managed to bargain was unbelievable even by standards of an accidented repaired car

Will take delivery & immediately give it for bake painting. It's kind of a project car in terms of restoring the looks back to charming.

Anyways you might need to fully paint the car and redo the seats.
How's the car working mechanically? Engine and suspension?

Logo ko tameez hai, one has to pay bucks to get a car driven by Tameezdar people.

On the contrary, logo ko tamee bhi nahi aur haya bhi nahi. The badtameez ones ask prices as if they are tameezdar

The car will hopefully be done with denting by tomorrow
Monday: After replacement of one malfunctioned engine mount, by noon, New trunk and rear bumper to be fitted.
Tuesday & Wednesday: grinding of previous paint and preparation of new base
Thursday & Friday: Surface perfection, filler, primer, sanding etc etc and final preparation of surface for paint.
Saturday: Paint work, starting at 9:30 and all done by evening in the paint booth.
    Sunday: sunbath despite baking
Monday: after sunbath during day, wetsanding, compound, polish & wax
Tuesday: Fittings of all window panes, side mirrors, mouldings, lights, handles and all remaining stuff. And then wash & wax again
Wednesday: the already prepared seats to be fitted, navigation and interior detailing.
So if all goes as planned this means it will be home by 1st June I.A with maybe a variation of a day or 2. Meaning it's going to take about 12 days or let's make it 2 weeks approximately.

I first checked the same option. These Oems along with Yoko's 205/60-16 are costing me 35+42=77 while Oem oriel rims with 195/65-15 Yoko's are costing me 22+28=50. (Subtraction amount of old existing 16's is constant in both)
So not sure if i will be in the mood to spend extra 27. Will be saving that to get In dash Navigation TV.

He's charging 22. A few thousand here or there don't matter. My existing 16's are getting adjusted as well so the calculations depend on a few factors and I don't mind buying 2k expensive rims if the old ones are priced accordingly higher as well

Although the denter said he will be getting a new rear trunk and bumper, today. Apart from that the windscreen cracked during the storm. A stone from the shed above rolled and fell on it. The sunroof was jammed. WD-40 has shown magic. It has started working again.

sunroof mechanism has plastic parts so I'll advise Wd 40 Silicone Lubricant which doesnt harm rubber/plastic components.

Trunk found from Bilal Gunj of a foreign model. Local ones were all repaired. This one does not have a key slot but I don't mind that because condition is 10/10. Will add remote unlock. Plus lever is there to open it from the inside
    Price: Rs.10,000

Found front Oem headrests from a foreign model. The ones with slot opening. Probably come in Hybrid. The color is navy blue but doesn't matter as will be matched with seat poshish.
