Default Isn't it better to buy cL7rather than buying civic

    hi guyz ,,,
i think the new civic has beeen discussed many times in the forum,,but i wanna ask u guyz whether civic has captured the market or not....
if u see the response of the customers like all people were waiting for new civic but when it launched with that much price tag many many of the people who wanted buy civic ,, bought allion, premio and accord cl7....
my cousin also bought a cl7 rather than new civic...i think buying a vti oriel pros. price around 15lakh.. its not a good idea ..cl 7 is a better choice as it loooks much much more stylish than civic and with the bigger engine in almost the same price......
i think this thinking has failed the new civic...
    what u guyz think.......

if there is not too much diff. in price...i will pick the CL7 anyday over the civic. having said that....the condition of the accord has to be atleast 'decent' if not immaculate. if possible...i will atleast do a compression test on the motor to see if it has been abused or not....

rest of everything is not rocket science...the engine needs to go through a complete tune up if necessary...just to make sure...its not that expensive and will give you peace of mind that it will last a long time.

the newness of the civic may be tempting...but the accord is a bigger and better car.
I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it..and so restriction of free thought and free speech is the most dangerous of all subversions.

I love when 17 year olds-turned-economists speculate on an entire car industry. This questioned must of been answered tens of times already, yet every new kid on the block deems himself fit to stir up a new conversation on how the "new civic is a flop".

The civic isnt a flop. You guys created so much hype around the product that when it didnt sell in the millions you labelled it a flop. For months before it's launch pages upon pages were posted about it, but when it came down to buying a civic - no 17 year old bigshot could reach in his piggy bank and buy one.

If you're basing the failure of the civic based on just how many cars were sold, the accord is an even bigger failure. For every 20 civics sold, there is just one accord. There are other things you have to look at before you label a car a failure, unfortunately you young kids arent looking at them.

A part from spare parts, CL7 is much better than civic

unless you have driven or owned a car yourself...you are in no position of suggesting that it is a hit or a flop.....i dont get why so many bloaks just simply say...its a flop..haha

its all heresway...with the exception of a small bunch...most dont even know how an engine work...dont think im criticizing...im just stating my opinion...you may disagree.

i have seen a couple of reviews here on the site and they were all positive about the car.

    Aoa.

The new Civic is not a flop. The only problem that you see this car less on the road is that other cars are providing tough competition. Now there are more new cars like Premio, Liana and others. Plus people now a days can afford to import cars as well.
The people simply have more options now a days, first there only used to be corola, civic.

I think we are getting off the topic here
    .

The question is "Isnt it better to buy CL7 rather than buying CIVIC"

I think only nabs/asid response was related to it.

Please dont again start discussing CIVIC is flop or not. Please advice your expert opinion on is it OR is it NOT.

A friend of mine bought CL7 in 17lac few days ago ignoring NEW civic.

I think this is a very good topic and I was considering opening it myself so I again ask all experts for their thoughts.

Is it advicable to buy CL7 over Civic ignoring engine-size-difference, (one/two lac) price difference considering maintanence, spare parts, resale and other factors.

    Thanks in advance.

Could anyone please show me picks how a cL7 looks like. Also why is it called cl7 and not say Accord 2002 or Accord 2003. How many other types of cl s are there. I mean is there a cl6 or cl5. With so many different shapes of Accords running arround, I have no clue. I need to be educated.

    Thanks.

Also my 1600 cc Civic eats up so much gas that I prefer the use of my 1300 cc Corolla. How do you afford petrol for 2.4 lit Accord..............or does it run on diesel?

I was also very confused between these two cars. "Humy" may know it well, bcz I asked him a lot of questions about these two cars on Live Chat.
After a month of thinking I decided to go with new civic. The only reason for which I didn't buy CL7 is the maintainnance headace, Because its an Old car, and it defenately needs maintainance.
The cost of maintainance will be much more higher than Civic.

If you have deep pockets to buy expensive parts and have time to goto workshops then you should consider CL7 over Civic.
One more thing. If you buy Civic you get 20,000 Km or 1 Year (whatever come first) Warranty, which you don't get on CL7. If any thing happens to CL7, then you are on your own.

I THINK BUYING CL7 IS BETTER THAN CIVIC. .

    honda accord cl9 and cl7 has better reputation . . ! !

but cl7 is depend on condition . . if condition is gud than cl7 is best. .

and in new civic you are tension free about condition. . engine etc. . bcoz its zero meter.. .
U MUST UNDERSTAND 1 SIMPLE FACT. . . IT IS NOT DIFFICULT TO CATCH ME , ITS IMPOSSIBLE ! ! !

1 of my mates broke the front bumper of his CL 7, it cost him around 75 K for a new one. The bumper for a new Civic costs a measly 3.5 - 4 K.

If ur a high roller who doesnt care about maintenance cost, buy the import, otherwise, get a local civic with a warranty and spares.

Smashed/Broken bumpers is common in pakistan, bcz of dodgem cars condition.

Imagine how much would a BMW 7 Series bumper cost :|

Lately a person contacted me regarding the same query. He wanted an Accord but later on choose to buy Civic!!! Well his preference was NEW CAR, LATEST MODEL and NEW CAR (once again). Though there is a difference between the two drives, it certainly depends on what you prefer and how you prefer it to be. .

If it were me i'd choose CL7 over Civic any day ...(Not biased cause i import cars.....just a personal opinion)
