Default Honda Civic Engine Mount Replacement

I have a Honda Civic 2011, driven 30,000KM. Since a week I have been hearing this "thud" every time one of the front wheel passes over a small bump in the road. It feels like something hits the car from underneath. I checked with Honda Pit Stop at Cavalry Ground & they said the engine mount is broken & needs replacement. He offered a Thailand made mount which costs PKR 7000. And told me the genuine mount costs PKR 15000. Honda Point has the genuine mount which is also Thailand made for PKR 15000.

Did anyone else had this engine mount failure? What was your fix?

Do these mounts fail often? I thought such parts are supposed to last the life time of the car.

    Will appreciate any input. Thanks

It is common problem of civic and mostly dealt with under warranty free of cost.. And if i recall correctly some user did mention he got it changed for free even when warranty was expired.

I got it replaced for free. Ask the dealership to replace in warranty, otherwise complain to Honda through email or helpline. That's how I got it done.

Thanks for the reply. The dealership "Honda Point" where I bought the said car from refused to replace it under warranty. They told me that it's a manufacturing fault & earlier there was a campaign where they were replacing the defective mounts for free, but that campaign isn't active anymore.

I emailed Honda (info@honda.com.pk) about the issue. Someone called back & said they will replace it for free from any dealership I want. They asked for my CNIC & Car's chasis number. Today someone called again and told me that the part request has been processed. They gave me a code. I have to go to Honda Point with this code on Monday and hopefully they will replace the mount.

Great job with the email. Now get it done for free and enjoy a trouble free drive for around 60K kms.
