Toyota is also 90% localised my friend so lets stop it right here.

And if a Pakistani company is coming up in a big way for the first time, then its a good sign for our auto parts industry.

Things will surely come up to global standards.

Are we discussing Toyota here. It is a crap car, piece of junk on wheels and you want to justify Civic's poor quality with it? No issue with Pakistani company if it produces glass at par with Saint Gobian at least or may be better than it. Fine they are moving towards global standard, but then Atlas should not charge price of USDM Touring and cobble together a Civic with low quality outsourced parts.
Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.

Major components of vehicles assembled in Pakistan come in the form of CKD kits mainly from Thailand for both Honda and Toyota.

Rest of the parts are localised here, its part of the auto policy to encourage local industrial base purely to keep costs down and increase profits 3fold, but in the end the clients face the dilemma of a poorly assembled car.

    Assembling doesn't constitute local production.

Just got it today so more pics later but this colour just looks amazing ! great shade of silver ! and the best bit the quality issues have been addressed atleast as far as my car is concerned there are a couple of fitting issues but thats how the plastic mould is designed so cant do much about it but overall very good finishing on my car!!

Members who are made in Pakistan should get their quality checked as well. Who knows your eyes were also manufactured by Jugnu Dar Ul Basarat in RA Bazar.

What a stupid logic i just gave because the stupidity is in answer to your hate of a local product. So what if the glass is locally made? It's made as per a standard. And the best part is those talking and criticising a locally made item love local general tyres. Grow up, act your age and leave your childhood bully attitude in school don't drag it along.

It's exactly this kind of immature attitude by some bully members why many people in PW don't post their genuine discussions now. Did I see people in the recent past complaining about slow traffic all off a sudden. Talking genuine things is one aspect like we have been discussing many issues on the Civic but coming up with lame bullying is another thing. Don't you guys have anything better in life to do than that?

Very well analyses Ali. I agree and those members I believe have no idea how some of the greatest company's were started. And anyway even if it's AGI glass what's wrong with that?

Maybe they think it has less visibility and causes cataract to your eyes. Because otherwise it is tempered and laminated as per standard.

Now before local thing haters google for cataract, its also called mottiya in our mother tongue.

I mentioned about the bugs in the head unit a while back here > https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/civ...48#post5172761

I wish Atlas followed some standard for the quality of dashboard and other plastic components, they are here for more than 20 years now..

Got my white Turbo delivered yesterday. Had a chance to drive it around a bit. Sharing my initial impression for the benefit of all on this forum.

-The exterior design is just spectacular. I am sure most of you have seen that in pictures and in person. Exterior design was one of the reasons I bought the car.

    - The turbo engine is splendid (the other reason i bought it). Couldn't help checking it out right as I took it out of the dealership although I did remember someone advising against pushing the car too much before the odo hits 1000 km. Anyway the acceleration is really good and lag is there only if you floor it and even then its not so bad. Even with a light foot acceleration is adequate.

-Suspension is also better than previous gen civics. Although definitely not as soft as that on the corolla.

Now the not so good parts.

-The plastics on the interior feel really cheap and sub-standard. The buttons on the steering and for climate control feel very cheap and flimsy. The black plastic panels literally feel like theyre made from recycled material. The dreaded panel gaps are still alive and kicking. The interior is not a good place to be in.

-The leather seats are very poor quality. The leatherite used is the cheapest quality and stitching is uneven and misaligned in multiple places. Same goes for leatherite on door panels and center console.

-The carpets are the cheapest quality available. Barely fit the description of carpet. Color is not suitable for dusty environments.

    - They have completely ruined the center console because of the rear screen . It crackles when you put an elbow on it and your'e afraid to even use it too much beacuse it feels like it might break anytime. But by far the biggest eyesore in the cars interior is the cut they made for the rear screen at the back of the console (pics attached). This one is really really hard to swallow.

    - The infotainment system feels generally poor and has a tonne of bugs. It hung up within a few hours of initial use and refused to reboot despite turning the engine off and on again.

-The rear screen screen randomly turns on by its own while its stowed in and also heats up. Everytime i sit in the car i have to check to make sure the rear screen is not switched on. I really hope this is something they'll be able to fix when the car goes in for its 1000 km check up. Rear screen resolution is also really bad. Plus I never got the point in putting a screen in there in the first place. At least mine's gonna stay stowed in most of the time (hopefully switched off )

-Other than that there are rattling/whistling sounds from a few spots. ( trademark of pakistani manufacturing ). Hoping they either go away on their own or I learn to live with them as I have learnt in the past its futile to ask the dealerships to find and fix them.

To sum up this generation of the civic is in my opinion by far the best looking and with the turbo option one of the most exciting to drive. Kudos to Honda desgin team.

The Honda Atlas part however is a colossal failure. They have done their best at ruining what couldve been a truly great car. The quality of materials and craftsmanship is not just pathetic by international standards but a new low even for pakistan manufacturing. No criticism is too harsh for what they have done.

Here are pictures of the problems i have discovered so far.

And if a Pakistani company is coming up in a big way for the first time, then its a good sign for our auto parts industry.

Things will surely come up to global standards.

Your figure of 90% localized is wrong.

I ripped my car for sound proofing and took every piece out of the car and was amazed to see such quality materials used in toyota. And atleast 60 percent of them were imported

Here is an official document presented in National Assembly about localisation of local assemblers.

Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.
