There are people I know who are getting themselves Turbo civic but only for the sake of having that as their main go to car is going to be something else and the turbo is just a weekend car.

    salam,

sorry to post this offguard, but dont you guys think that 1.8 oriel also requires higher octane to run on for maximum performance and proper running of car?

my family has been using 1.5 aspire city on high octane in islamabad.

high octane in isb is available but only from Attack Pumps (H-8, f-11)

Apparently the only issue with the 1.5 T is the word Turbo. Since the 1.8 civic has a naturally aspirated engine, it will not be damaged unlike the 1.5Turbo if anything but high octane is used. Which is why I changed my car from turbo to 1.8 Oriel.

Since the city has a 1.5 naturally aspirated engine and not a turbo therefore using high octane in that car isn't bad as you know the quality of our regular fuel. But the city cannot be compared to the turbo engine which is completely different.

I brought a gallon of Hi Octane with me.... BUT....

    The Surprise to all skeptics:

    NO MORE OCTANE ISSUES!

I knew it would culminate like this, therefore stuck to Turbo booking...

It seems they've either tweaked it.... Or... There was no such MANDATORY thingie from day 1!

    Pressure tactics probably...

My man I salute you for your choice. And I agree with you as well.

The thing is, the day before the high octane is mandatory and if not used it will void the warranty fiasco a friend of mine who owns a car dealership by the name of Zafar Motors on Jail road Lahore told me that Honda City Sales manager spoke to him and said that Atlas has completely underestimated the demand for turbo and has no way or means of fulfilling the demand. Most people had booked turbo initially and Atlas were left scratching their heads. So the manager requested the dealers on Jail Road to discourage people from buying turbo and book 1.8L. He even asked them to call those who had pre booked turbo and encourage to shift to 1.8 by stating that the turbo needs to run on high octane. And the next day the document came out stating that Hi octane is mandatory.

Secondly, my little brother picked up his turbo from city sales 2 weeks ago. And the guy who runs the dealership told him to not worry and just run the car on normal fuel. "sir wo dekhein meri turbo, meine eik dafa ismein Hi octane nhn dalwaya. Ap chaleyen isko. Yahan layen service ke liye. Koi kuch nhn kahega meein guarantee deta hun."

He's a friend of my brothers father in law. So he was just having a friendly chat with us. I'm sure he wouldn't say that to regular customers.

Anyway. Enjoy your ride man. Have fun and do write a review for us.

    Thank you...

An let me just say kudos to those who stuck with the Turbo like myself and did not fall prey to mean pressure tactics by Honda Atlas and dealers....

Upon delivery today I reminded the dealer about the warranty void threats that they had been issuing earlier...

His reply was a simple shoulder shrug and : " Sir jee.... It was never on writ, was it"? !!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to all Turbo owners who stayed the course.... Any fuel can be used.... Although... I myself have a habit of using Hi Octane since early days of motoring, so will be using it on availability..... Else... No issues, no need for sweat pearls, no worry in case of unavailability.... 😎

Btw.... Just changed out the crap called BG Luxo whatever.... Had a tough drive from dealer to the tyre man.... Just replaced with Yoko DB Advan... 225/55/16....

    @AK471 sir first congrats.

You can run your turbo on any fuel but when the problem unfortunately appear.. no friend reference or word of mouth will work. Honda ATLAS made it mandatory in the user manual as well as the fuel lid. Failure of cat sensor and component premature as well as carbon in the head and early and premature failure of plugs.. just check your plugs after few thousand kilometer run if you drive on regular and you will see it.
Rest it's your car but I will never fill any fuel below required minimum grade. On the side note.. even 87 regular on pumps is of low quality.. which can further push these issues.

Fazal! you are absolutely right.i think turbo owners must go according to the manual for atleast a couple of years.i am sure everyone spending 3 millions definitely has one or two cars for routine or rough use,so bring them back on the road when hioct not available.

Contrary to what is believed, dealers don't know *****. They are the last ones to ascertain what's happening in the company, and that is a fact. Even when company wants to share something or get a feel of the market, they only talk to very very few selected dealers.

I was also thinking of buying one for my car. I have heard the dealerships are not selling it separately but only in a set (utility package that includes air press, floor mats etc).
It will be great If anyone could tell from where to get it as I don't want to buy the complete utility package.

    Thanks

Mian Jee.... Thanks bro...👍 Fazalwahab.... Thank you bro.

Let me just say, as stated earlier in my posts, personally I've never used any other fuel in my cars, else than Hi Octane, whichever, even my 800 cc local errands Chevy gets a dose of the blessed automotive "Marijuana" when available..😜

Same will apply to this beauty, Inshallah... And my suggestion is still... To any Turbo owners, or for that sake, ANY CAR owner, USE THE BEST fuel you can get, always.....

But... I was just mentioning the surprising change of language at the Honda people...

What the heck are they up to?

In any case... Fuel will soon be standardized anyways... So no worry...

Btw.... I noted lining in the bonnet today.... Is this something that was around since day 1?

Moreover.... My first impression was.... This car is incredibly light on the foot and fast, yet still does carry a pleasant "weight" to it, like Gen 8, and thanks God doesn't have the "floating" feel to it like gen 9...

With the 225/55 DB Advan... The grounding is like "sucked to the road", very stable, noiseless, SMOOTH.... 👍 👍 👍

Remaining impressions and Civic X photo session in separate thread soon..... Let me just get it past the 1000 in odo.. so flooring report could be posted here....

    Regards.... ☺️
