Default Honda Civic HPS to EPS?

Hi guys. I was wondering if anyone of you car enthusiasts know about the approximate cost of converting 8th Gen Civic (model 2010) from Hydraulic power steering to Electronic power steering? I'm asking this question on behalf of a friend of mine who has been facing leakage and cluttering sound with his civic since last 3-4 months. He's got it repaired/replaced twice but no relief yet. So please kindly help a fella since I personally have no knowledge about this kind of stuff.

    Thanks in advance.

I won't suggest shifting to EPS. Get it fixed by someone good

Totally worth it, as civic jdm version comes with factory fitted EPS. You need steering rack, eps unit, eps ecu and uncut wiring, even your stock fuse box have eps reserve fuse for cluster.
Approx cost will be 25-30k for complete swap stuff.
By swapping eps your will get rid of fluid bottle, oiley pipe lines, and oiley repaired steering rack. Let me if you require any more info about it. Thanks

The steering responsiveness would be affected by shifting to EPS. Right?

I hope not... I've heard a few people done the same thing and quite happy with it. Unfortunately I couldn't contact them for the information, that's why I asked here.

HPS has better steering feedback anyday than EPS. Try any EPS of latest Civic or Corolla and compare it to Reborn . I bet the feedback of reborn steering HPS cant be matched by these JDM cars or any local with EPS.
For that reason alone, i miss my 8th Gen Civic till yet

I wouldn't know about that. I own a 9th Gen Civic (2015 Vti Oriel Prosmatec) and a 7th Gen Civic (2005 Vti Oriel Prosmatec which has no steering issues) and I used to have 8th Gen as well. But personally I feel new civic has a better steering. But that's just me.To each his own.

I switched to Honda in 1999 and i have had each n every model of City & Civic brand new since than, except Civic X, but when it comes to steering feel and feedback, 8-th Gen Reborn HPS has no match. Best steering response & feel i have ever experienced with driving any PKDM Honda's.

But if someone can find an EPS with all the right parts in good/genuine condition & a right mechanic to do the swap, difference would be negligible.

BTW, you can get any type of steering response or feel just by reprogramming the EPS ECU, if you can find someone capable enough of doing that(which i highly doubt).
