if shock mounts are torn then you run the risk of breaking the mount on hitting a hard bump or speed breaker at speed and the shock would dislocate and car would become undrivable and other suspension components ball joints etc may also get damaged.
but this is extreme scenario, depends on how bad it is, do you hear any noise? if not you could possibly use this for two weeks provided you are extra carefull on potholes or speed breakers.
if only the mounts are torn then the shock does not get damaged, only the mounts need to be replaced.
what are you referring to as shock boot? normally that referred as the rubber covering the strut inside the spring. thats for protection
