Foreign Hondas are indeed But damn and it's still going strong :O

Jokes apart, I think Pakistani Hondas are reliable as well if kept with care.

I think it is more about people here not doing proper maintenance they slap 20w50 inferior low grade oil in a year old car. Apart from that there is fake oil in the market

Relatively few people use synthetics. Some people try to extend the drain interval to 10k km while others replace oil every 3k km. People also drive small distances which is bad too.

They take out thermostat and make the fan direct. Then there are people on CNG, when they shift to petrol without proper settings. In many cars with distributors they dont even retard the timings back.

My honda is about to touch 3 lac km and engine is still going strong.

My Honda City 2008 has ODO 255000 and it's still going good. Never lets me down. I have always maintained it by the book and never missed any maintenance schedule.

The engines here are not locally made, its all sourced from thailand.

As above its all about maintenance. You hear people and even mechanics say for eg, oh you have reached or are above 100k kms you should switch to thicker oil etc, which may have been true last century.

My dads 2010 city for eg has just clocked 100k and he has been using 5w-30 fully synthetic oil that honda sell. Engine still going strong and will continue with this oil/viscosity.

For Pakistan Honda's fall poor for suspension on our beaten-up roads, which gradually beats the engine and others for honda.

It all depends upon how you treat and maintain the car. People say Honda's in Pakistan are fragile. Can anyone shed light if they are or not ?

    yes - true..

then you see the bunch of morons who drain the coolant and use tap water because ustaad told them - some put some mazaar baba ke dumm ka paani, then when it rusts they put cutting oil in it.

multigrade engine oil - fizool - ye 65 saal purana mota haail daalo, puranee foksee, skoda aur vegzaal mein dalta thaa, set chalegi..

zero maintenance and even basic maintenance is done from scrapyard because "jenyan" - including brake parts.

you guys say honda???? - even a military tank will fail here due to the stupid mindset.

Well, the people who says Pakistani Honda are not reliable enough now are correct to some extent in my opinion.

If you guys talk about ONLY engine then you are right, its all about proper maintenance but other than engine there are alot more parts in a car. In Pakistan the parts which are manufactured by local vendors are totally crap now. "Cost cutting" has done terrible to the cars. Interior, body sheets, engine foundations, suspension and other minor parts of Pakistani Honda cars are not at all reliable. The rest is done by the roads specially in Karachi. Road conditions are also an important factor that affects the car.
