I have never seen a 7th gen wheels get locked up by handbrake. And i think its better this way instead of corolla handbrake which instantly jams the wheels.

    The oem ones are thai?

    This is no criteria.

To test handbrake, stop your car, put handbrake at 4th teeth and try moving the car. If it moves easily then you gotta readjust cables or change it depending upon condition.

Wheel lockup is actually dangerous. Your car is not meant to do that, handbrake is supposed to not let a car from move while it is stopped, not jam wheels while it is moving

the handbrake lever is adjusted many times and once adjusted it stops the wheels at first or second click.....but after few days the lever also gets loosed and even after pulling the lever to max the tyres wont stop....cant park the car even on flat road without putting the car in first gear(using front wheels to park).mechanics say these thai cables are useless.
