I'd like to get the contact info of the shop that did the work. I was also wondering what kind of fuel do you run in your car. Octane rating?

Omerjamil, thank you for your comments
About the 10 km/ltr concern, yes that is true. Actually, there is a reason behind that. A turbo car, if driven normally (with no boost), would give a better consumption than a normal car. (The reason for that is a bit technical so I won’t go into it right now). Then when you drive fast, say at 6 psi of boost, your fuel consumption would go high (higher than a normal car). Now, the point is how you drive your car. I drive pretty normal most of the time, boosting only when racing or occasionally when with friends. So, on an average I drive ¾ of my tank with no boost, and only ¼ under boost. Therefore, as a mixed result I easily get an average of 10 kms/liter.

For your car, I suggest you keep the filters clean (air & oil). Change them every 3000 kms if you can. What engine oil do you use? (I use Liquimolly). Try a synthetic one. Use proper plugs etc .. Heavy and bigger wheels effect fuel consumption a lot. But most important of all its the way you drive, try not to be too aggressive on the accelerator!

And thanks for the warning. I haven’t raced a single car of the same model till now. I’ll be waiting for the challenge

Bilalahm, the GTti was definitely more fun than the civic. The only reason I sold it and switched to a civic is because I realized there is no way a GTti can beat a turbo civic. But given an opportunity and resources I would love to keep another GTti, provided its as good as my old one

I am going to post up my mechanic’s number, but please only those who really want some work done contact him. He is already very hard to get, so don’t waste your time fooling around. His name is Rizwan Shah and the number is 051-2101990.

9BL, thank you for appreciating my ride(s)! I have the dump valve on this car, but maybe the sound that you are referring to is actually of the dump tube of the external wastegate. Usually people hook it up to the main exhaust pipe, but I have left it open just below the engine. For the fuel consumption, just read the previous post and you’ll get your answer!

Kingkhan, my basic fuel is the ‘hi-octane’ you get here in local fuel stations. Then I use some octane boosters, available commercially. When racing, I use a secret ingredient (hoping you won’t ask) to raise the octane rate and so minimize pinging and detonation.

The octane boosters wont do you any good if you are running a stock motor. They are only useful, when you need a higher octane level (than the hi-octane) to over come pinging, also commonly known as knocking. It might add a little power, say 0.1%, but thats very little compared to the price of these things!

well i agree on the part tht modding without swapping saves a real pain and time,,,,thats true, but u compromise the power, anyways its a fair game in both ways

Ahtasham, I must say man very nice and clean setup. U dont see many clean cars here in Pakistan. Based on your automotive knowledge, you sound like you have been doing this for sometime. Props on the clean ride. Can i have the contact info of were you got the ride done. I want to do something similar to my Accord, maybe an H22A swap with a bolt on. Looking at my options.

    Salaam.

    Thank you 99Acrd!
If you call the workshop (the number I posted earlier), ask for Adil. He's the guy that deals in performance parts. However, my advice to you is to gain as much knowledge as possible before spending your money. Never hand over your car to anyone thinking they know what they are doing. The only reason my setup is so clean is because I did everything myself. I imported each and every part personally that you see in my car and that too after spending months on research. Then I made sure I supervise every bit of the installation work that I couldn’t do so myself. These things count a lot, so just keep them in mind. Now there are quite a few shops in Pakistan that carry a range of performance parts. Best ones are in Karachi. I know most of them pretty well. Also, a friend of mine has the dealership of OZ wheels for Pakistan. These Italian wheels are top quality. I too have a set of those in my car. If you need something I can hook you up with a good deal, so let me know. My email is ahtashamsheikh@hotmail.com

The rims design doesnt matter that much CENA but the performance does.

Ahtasham needs to have lightweight imported rims rather than very heavy stylish ones.

Once again Ahtasham , great piece of work you have done on this baby.

Frazfa, how about a video? I have just uploaded a little something for all you guys to see. No its not a race video, just some installation work. Races would be coming up soon (once I start shooting them). The video should be up in the "Video Downloads" section as soon as its approved by the website's moderator!

Magsi222, thats right, 220 hp is all what I am running at 8 psi on a completely stock motor. Are you running better figures?

Kiani, dude thanks for answering on my behalf

Cena, it costed me a lot. I remember saying, "I could have bought another civic with the same money" to someone who asked me the same question, earlier in this post!

Magsi222, only if you had gone through this post, you would know that most of the things you are saying have already been said (or answered) earlier by myself.

For example, you are telling me that I need a better clutch. Just go two posts above, there I have posted a video of my ACT clutch installation. It was one of the very first mods

Dyno tuning does rock, not doubt about that. However, since its not available in Pakistan .... not much use mentioning it!
