    Default water evaporation in Civic 95

    hi,
    i have civic 95. 1,36,000 kms driven. engine in sound condition. while driving in a city, it consumes the water from radiator bottle at a faster rate. i have to refill it completely at every alternate day. but when i go on long drive, even not a single drop of water is reduced. i drove from Islamabad to Multan and water level remained full till destination. the fan is direct and thermos valve is serviceable. there is no problem of radiator and Gas Kit. i have visited many mechanics and every one comes up with a different solution based upon just hit & trial method.

    Flush it and refill with coolant.
    Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.

    it is possible that it is not evaporation but a leak.

    do note that a cars water pump works harder in town than it does on constant speed motorway journeys.

    @ibnekhalid

    I had a 95 civic and it had the same problem. Please check the radiator cap and make sure you have a new and genuine cap.

    With Direct fan u converted ur honda into a Taxi
    (no offense meant) i am strictly against it

    1) its not a leakage, because leakage is continous and ur car does not lose water on long route

    2) Get the radiator fully serviced its an old car now. they will use a little acid to flush it and open up the fins

    3) check radiator cap is functioning properly.

    4) u probably have the fan direct and thermostat valve removed? thats the wrong solution !

    5)if none of the above works , get a genuone gasket and thermostat valve and get it replaced

    Well I have a CIVIC 90 when I bought it had the same problem but the Radiator was "DESI" made with a metal top and bottom, I put in a Genuine radiator but the fact is HONDA's atleast the HONDA Accord & the CIVC (90) have a problem of overheating, I spoke to a few people in Bilal Gunj they told me that a 2 or 3 Nalee wala radiator is good but no space in my Civic to fit in a bigger radiator however COOLANT is the best option.

    If you have a GASKET issue then if you want to keep the car try not to get it repaired from local mechanics becuase one the HEAD is opened the problem of "Overheating/Pressure making/Water Evaportation" stops for a little while but due to AC comes back again quick, so the best option for you is to get a new HEAD from BILAL GUNJ believe me you will be a happy man and the market is flooded with HONDA engines you will certainly find a good deal so best option is to replace instead of repair
