Lets hope this shape is *NOT* launched in pakistan atleast this year. World is not ready for cars shaped like this. City is already strange enough. Even current civic model looks way more agressive then one in the pic. This car may look beautifull to some, or beautifull to all a century later, but at this time,in this pic, it do not appeal to my senses, though I am a fan of civics. But in this case, i think if exact same shape is introduced in pakistan, instead of killing corolla or whatever its going to kill itself

There is no doubt this car will be hit with tuners. Any idea what kind of engine will be heading to US?

Well I agree with codernaut that pakistani people are not ready for such cars as the CITY is really very strange for them. I personally know a lot of prople who have bought corolla instead of city knowing that city is a much better car only because they cannot accept it's shape.
Pakistani people still like cars shaped the way they used to be decades back .........

...this is what the editor says:
Editor's NOTE: While the car depicted in this drawing looks interesting, and appears to be a fairly reasonable representation of the 2006 North American Civic Sedan, it's pretty clear that this drawing is not fully accurate. First of all, the one set of spy shots that we've seen clearly shows a front quarter window, and the car in those photos has been verified to be the real '06 Civic. Secondly, if you look at the side view/cutaway above, take a look at the front wheel placement - there is virtually zero overhang. And note Honda has repeatedly stated in the past that though long front overhangs are difficult to deal with from a styling standpoint, they are an absolute necessity for meeting their safety priorities. On top of that, with a transverse FF transaxle configuration, such wheel placement is also nearly impossible from a packaging standpoint. So this throws off the overall proportions of the sketch. The detailing on the sides and door cutlines appears reasonably accurate, but moving to the rear of the vehicle, we think there are some differences. In these renderings, the trunklid cutlines are tapered too much - it looks good and gives the car a bit of a muscular look, but we know Honda, and we don't think they would sacrifice access to the trunk to such a degree. Also, we're nearly certain that the Civic sedan won't have dual exhausts, nevermind triangular tips.
*As we all know, the Geneva show already took place in March. Honda has officially stated that the production version of the '06 (Euro) Civic will debut in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show

Codernaut, bilalahm: despite shape city was and is the best selling even in other countries like malaysia.

Yes Pakistanis are more used to traditional styles but local assemblers have to follow the new design.

The more important point is that with all new civic in 2006, can Honda worldwide and in Pakistan especially keep selling 2005 model? Now I have noticed special packages on 2005 models elsewhere in world due to 2006 model change.

I think Honda is not going to take any risk as far as shape is concerned of new Civic as its going to be same shape in all over the world unlike city which is meant for asian countries only.. besides cmon guys there is hell lot difference between this new civic and current city..

I don't think so this model will be hit with tuners. This car more like city. Plz check the review on this car at www.edmunds.com
Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.

Had i money i'd buy this civic in a flash but in Pakistan u r usually 45-50 before u have cash in your hands to buy a nice car and at that age u want something conservative and not sporty looking like this civic. In Pakistan people don't have much money so they don't like taking risks and buying radical looking cars like this civic. so lets what the reaction to this civic will be. I'm all for it btw!
