Lemme give ya first hand advice as I got a BMW 316i E36.
BMW is a very very much fun to drive, driver oriented and most importantly it gotta feel. On the other hand Civic ain't got any of these characteristics, in short its not as fun as a Bimmer.
Maintenence of a Bimmer is as a matter of fact expensive in comparision to a Civic. Obviously same goes for the maintenence of any German and imported JDM car. Full fluids change and service/tune-up costs Rs. 10,000, which includes gear oil, engine oil, car wash, car polish, tune-up, code diagnosis, power steering fluids, oil filter, air filter and feul filter etc. Which will be in perfect condition for almost 20k kms or 6 months which ever comes first. Mechanical parts are expensive then a civic as used parts are not readily available and some rare parts needs to be outsourced. But mechanical parts of a bimmer will last atleast thrice the period of civic and they literally never breaks down.
Features of an E36, 316i are more then that of a 2000 Civic.
Badge Respect is far more then a brand new Civic.
Civic got a very good resale in comparision to a BMW.
In my personal opinion if you want to drive for pleasure and badge auro then go far a bimmer but if you want to go for a safe bet but a boring one then go for a Civic.
@ hasan_t, Your friend probably miscommunicated you as a BMW E36 windshield is available at Rs. 65,000 at Dewan and at Rs. 30k at Al-Mubarak Autos whereas a Non-OEM from Al-Mubarak will cost around 18k.
Thnxx..
