    Well guys if you are comparing cost of cng vs petrol you are forgetting a couple of very important factors. For example if you drive on cng you will need to take extra care of your car and probably need to replace rings after 30,000/40,000 km. Add that cost too. And secondly alot of non-financial costs are involved e.g. the oppurtunity cost of time wasted in cng lines, tension of being able to drive max of only 100/150kms, cost of being slow compared to petrol etc etc.
    some of u mite not understand but these non-financial costs are of vital importance and are very important concepts in various subjects such as economics etc

    @Mani1..........

    I have read an advertizment that world bank and IANG need a technical expert for cng projects...... You should apply there.....Is all the world who is going for this alternate fuel is full of foolish people?????????..

    If some installers of cng kits and some cng filling station are not upgrading them selves to provide satisfectory services, it doesnt mean that you see the whole picture in that view......

    Who told you to change rings of cng vehicles after 30/40000km? what is the sourceof this misleading info????why the performance of your car SLOW????... why you wait in cue in Lahore city???? which part of Lahore city you are living????????....

    @LOGAS

    I am not commenting on which fuel is better. MashAllah I have petrol, diesel and cng cars.
    The points I mentioned are a fact. It is a fact that cng destroys the engine and it requires proper maintainance.
    In my very own company ive numerous examples where cng cars and petrol cars were given to employees. When the cars were returned, petrol cars proved to be more reliable while cng cars had all sorts of problem including starting problems and pick problems etc.
    And when I say that rings worn out....that is also true.

    and please refrain from direct attacks from now on otherwise i can also start e.g. here you claim LOGAS to be the best kit available but on the billboard rite outside your office you claim landi renzo to be 'most safe and relaible'
    in short anyone would find your comments on where one lives, and providing supposedly 'misleading' info degradotory. From now on please refrain.
    You and I very much know that cng destroys rings. It can happen after 4000km or after 40,000km. It depends.

    @Mani1........

    You must be running a good company, but people who are involved in cng business not only in Pakistan but Argentina, Austrailia, USA, Italy, India, Iran, UK, Germany are more smart and they proved that LPG/CNG is the fuel of the future.....

    If we are not commenting on which fuel is better, then what else we are discussing??????.....

    And why Suzuki, Toyota, Honda, Mercedeze are producing NGVs?????????...........

    @LOGAS

    I said it before and Ill say it again. I just gave my point of view that when considering total cost of any alternative you need to include the social and non-financial costs. Here I would also say that one social benefit of using CNG is cleaner environment(which counts alot for some people especially abroad)
    If you research(which I am sure u wud have already done) people abroab are working on CNG/LPG because it is an environmentally friendly fuel alongwith its cost advantage thus one again proving that social and non-financial costs/benefits are important.

    I am not against CNG. I just told people to consider total costs instead of financial cost only

    I repeat I did not intended to say that petrol is better than CNG. Apparently the cost/benfit ratio for both is nearly similar therefore the choice depends on personal preference. And I or anyone else for that matter can not change personal preferences that easily.

    Same here, I just gave my point of view, all manufacturers of cng compressors, kits, cylinders and allied components are not giving me commissions........

    This discussion is just for the sake of information for other members.........

    I drove my Vti (2003) around 50,000 km on Petrol and Optra around 20,000 km.

    I did same maths as Humming bird has done when the petrol price was 35 rs per liter. At that time I was convinced about Petrol..... BUT now......

    I drive around 500 km in one week. Thats 2500 to 3000 rs per week. Which makes the per day figure something like 360 to 430. 70 km in one day is not something unbelievable.

    I have been to Lahore thrice on my cuore, which infact is a foolish act keeping in view the safety concerns. What is the use of a 1.2M vehicle if I feel hesitant to take it on motorway just because of the absurd price of petrol.

    I am not much of a technical guy when it comes to cars, still the idea of CNG being injected into the manifold directly instead of throwing it in with Air, along with the TWO ECUs for TWO different fuels is sufficient to convince me. I know this exercise will save me from Tunning related issues. The merc E-Class pics in one post also did some magic in convincing me

    I have waited for a long time now, for the prices of Lo-Gas SIS kit to reduce. Unfortunately it is not happening. Let us see what discount Bilal Bhai offers me for being a pakwheelian as well as for promoting SIS kit among many people that I know. Even this reply is kind of a promotion!

    Had the SIS Kit not been introduced in Pak, I would have continued wasting money on petrol for ever. There are somethings that can never convince me, tunning of an EFI car is one of them...

    cool off people, their is no need to apply your personal decisions to other world, Cng saves a lot and that is confirmed , even few best manufacturers of Automobiles are encouraging to use Cng, some even say that you will get 15% more efficiency than petrol.

    for example i drive 100,000km a year and if i do the accounting i am saving 3rs/km (roughly maybe more)and in all i saved 300,000Rs,

    so it doesnt matter to me if my maintainance cost goes up to 50,000 Rs just coz of Cng ... i still save a lot.

    but for people who drive 20km a day... Cng is not an option, they can even use a bike instead
