Default Improving performence of 03 Civic vti

    Salams All,

Could any one guide me on how to improve performence on a 03 civic. I have one and on petrol it just doesnt seem to perform that well regarding pickup and top speed. The top speed seems to stop at 180 whereas the RPM still has a thousand revs till redline. I have a gli which achieves that speed ! and this is suppose to be 300 cc more with vtec! I am looking for some economical changes , maybe spark plug? widening the exhaust body? etc etc, any suggestions? its running on 205/65/R15's and has a 55 kg cylinder in the boot, but I dunt think it should make that much of a difference!! suggestions an comments please, also could someone elaborate what a stage 1 modifications require. thanks

take CNG off..use hi octane gas..
modern ECU will adjust ignition according to octane rating..hence better performance. not sure about this in Honda..give it a try.

You can install a screw type super charger and run mild boost of 5psi without damaging your engine.

Thanks for the feedback, see the issue lies with the fact that I want the car to be practical aswell, taking of the cylinder is a no no , as I travel 1500 km a week! can you imagine the gasoline bill on that! just bought the 205/65's a week back , so guess that would be outta question, regarding the plugs , hmmm , that is something worth considering, any more suggestions?

180km/hr is already enough for a family saloon , y u r bothered for more ?? its a family car so let it be like that ....
remember Speed thrills but kills ...

anywayz if u still want some modification advice , the biggest mod would be to remove that CNG Cylinder ,

u cant get performance and economy at the same time

@ lowresolution, comeon I am sure one can get economy and performance! its just 55 kg additional weight, surely , that shouldnt make it go that slow! true said its a family saloon, I aint aiming for 300 kmph! just 200! which equates to only 120mph! hardly record breaking speeds!
