possibly the steering pump is not functioning correctly,.. or you have the wrong fluid in it.

is the steering rack correctly libricated/greased?

bro i had the same problem with my civic..well my steering was all right but it made a humming noise when i turned it completely to one side..anyway there are flaps after the ps oil pump..at time sthose flaps block out or stop working...so just ask the honda ppl to flush the oil out and then add new oil...cost was something around 500-1000..and it takes around 45 mins..should hopefully solve the problem..

maybe there is a prob with the pressure release valve, u could get that checked. And EPS is electrical power steering, much better than the oil one in my opinion.

I had the same problem with my car. I believe there is a sterring rack adjustment possible. I had that done, which made the steering slightly easier. However too much results in vibration, so Honda does not recommend that. But you are right, the power steering does not 'feel' like a power steering. A normal rack and pinion steering is much lighter!

With regard to the brakes, if you running an automatic, then you need a brake pad change and adjustment. Normally brake pads on a manual transmission wear out between 25,000 - 30,000kms, but even on my automatic, I had to change them at about 15,000.
    Regards

This is the Manufacturing problem in Civic 05 and same shape models. In addition to many other Manufacturing problems, so it would stay hard what ever you do. DONT waste your money on it.
