Default Civic 98 CNG converted petrol issue

    Hi guys,

I have recently purchased a used civic 98 with CNG and some performance parts added to it. it has a 1.8 VTEC and automatic transmission

Recently I toped off the tank with petrol and tried to drive the car on petrol, the engine is constantly skipping on petrol

the car has an automatic CNG kit, means it starts and shuts off on petrol. The idling of the car when on petrol is ok, without any skipping but as soon as you try to drive with higher RPMS the skipping starts, it seems that there is some fuel blockage in it

I contacted the guy from whom I bought the car, he says its tuned for CNG, he says that petrol can can be adjusted but that would reduce the mileage on the cng

I wanted to know if he's telling the truth or if its some engine problem ? on the other hand the pick on CNG is superb (coming from being a mehran driver) even with A/C if I floor the accelerator I can get quite good pick

I'm form karachi so if anyone can also recommend a good civic workshop for regular maintenance and electronic checking of the engine, please mention that as well

there is a saying " do talwarain ik mayaan mai nahi reh sakti"
same goes with petrol and cng ..either u get better performance on cng or on petrol.

ummm... no its a 1.8 vti... when I was purchasing it I thought he told me the wrong specs, 1.8 VTEC engine is available in vti

thanks guys, I'll have it checked at some CNG garage, I think it might be a tuning issue as sometimes I loose the pick completely in 3rd gear or so... other times it rockets like a sports car
