I got the compressor changed in my 96 civic a few months back.
There are several compressors available in the market most of them are Chinese or some other make. It is difficult to find the original Japanese one. The Chinese ones range from anywhere between 9-12k. This is in Lahore. The used original ones sell for about 3-4k but without any warranty. Not many people give warranty on a used compressor.
Honda uses both Sanden and Denso compressors as OEM so it doesn't really matter which one you use, but you should preferably match it with the one that is in your car. The old compressor is a shot in the dark, you can never say how long it will last, so a new one is recommended.
I got the original Japanese Sanden for 16,500, 200 for the compressor oil, 1000 for the drier, 700 for the expansion valve, 2000 for installation, servicing, and gas charging.
If you buy from Honda dealership it is going to cost you 18,500 for the original Sanden compressor with 6 month warranty. Mind you, these rates are for the 96 civic it might be different for your car.
