both cars are good....but lots of difference in money

    in terms of performance
    civic 1.8@140bhp
    cl7 2.4@152bhp

so for just 12 horses u pay around 8 lakh more

in terms of braking and handling
both cars are perfect....ABS in both ...both have good handling

in terms of reliablity and comfort
cl7 can take the edge...but again moeny ratio is high

civic is although a market car...but accord still not at that much level......

so as far as i...i will say go for civic

I moved your topic to "General Auto Talks" i personally believe you will get better response to your thread and it suits the particular forum more

Although cylestine might kill me for this but i think drive of CL-7 is more enjoyable than that of new civic, although new car IS a new car

Civic is a 140hp 1.8L engine 5 spd auto with ABS, EBD and excellent brakes/handling/stability/acceleration.

The CL7 is a 152hp 2.0L (As per my info) 5spd auto with ABS, EBD, excellent brakes/handling/stability/acceleration?

ANd no, CL7 is NOT 8 lakhs more,

    Civic i-Vtec entry Auto - 1,420,000
Civic Vti Oriel Automatic - 1,555,000
    Accord CL7 entry level - 1,500,000
Accord CL7 loaded car - 1,670,000 or something like that

O and speaking of "drive", I dont know much about the Cl7

but the new civic has a really good accelerator coming out from the floor, and it has i-Vtec (also known as VVt-i / Valvetronic) which makes the acceleration excellent particularly in auto transmission types.

I dont know about the Cl7 tho

go for cl-7. it has a more smooth drive and a better dohc engine. although a new civic will give you the comfort and reliability of a new car but cl-7 will give give you the durability of a japanese assembled car .

    LOL @ Saquib, you traitor

Actually the drives are very comparible. I don't find the CL-7s drive to be particularly exciting since it feels too sluggish. However the CL-9 is a different story.

if i were u, i'd go for a CL7 with low mileage..carefully chosen.. after all its a Jap..there is no comparison in reliability and build standard between the two... but then thats me!

The difference between Japan Honda and Pakistani Honda is highly exaggerated. And I'm basing this on experience. The new Civic is almost at par with the Japanese Civic as I've compared both of them neck to neck. I've also been in the Thailand 8th Generation Civics, they're at par with ours except that they have an awesome color variety The only thing better about the Japanese build is the weatherstripping which is slightly better in finish on the edges. The 8th Gen Civic is a MODEL of what all Pakistani assembled cars should be like.
