Default Head gasket Replacement(civic 97) advice.

A month a ago my car started to drip engine oil where ever it stood just a few drops not that much.
    the oil nut was ok.

but there was some thing fishy oil was all around the engine head and oil marks on the transmission.
my car over heats when i drive above 100 for a while and oil burns when reved hard.(with wich iam used to)
but this over heating and oil leak marks around the valve cover.

coolant loss is not that much.
the car doesnt over heat in the city that much.little bit with AC.
but i do get a sweetish smell from the exhast fumes.

so its evident that the gasket is damaged.

the mechanic is asking 1500 rs as labour.
and he said gasket will be for 600-800.

can u advise me in this regard what other things can be changed as the head\valve cover will be open

any other gaskets or seals eg valva seals.
any price qoutes.\can any one refer me to a good mechanic

i will post the pic later showing what i have written above.

the top marks are because of tapt cover seal. if its leaking near the distributor, there is a different seal for it.if opening the side shows more leakage signs. the cam seals must be leaking as well.get the head faced if the car overheated and try to get genuine head gasket. i remember buying head gasked for 3000 rupees from company.

Well I dont think its a Gasket issue look like the Gasket is weak but its working so i suggest to carry on driving the car as long as its not over heating.

One of the main problems you might face (which is normal with modern engines) that after replacing the gasket and if the mechanic didnt do a good job the car might be hard to start or even wont start at all happend to a friends Civic and XLI and we have to put new rings in these cars.
Speed costs money, how fast can you afford to go.
