    Default Civic 2007 Windscreen Quality?

    Yesterday afternoon this Civic was parked inside with no direct exposure to heat or anythin that could hit the car.. the windows were also down.. all of a sudden there was a shatter sound n the rear windscreen was smashed.. it started in the middle n within half an hour the whole screen was full of split webs! Has this happened to anyone of you??

    Although we have claimed it in insurance, however, just wondering if this reflects the poor quality of glass! cause when the driver took the car to honda classic there was 2 more new civics with windscreens shattered!

    i mean there could be a scientific explanation of this phenomenon (not apparant though as the cabin was not pressurized, there was no sudden temperature change ,etc) however im more inclined to consider it a quality issue! cause i ve seen many ppl splashing cold water on hot windscreens in summers n they just dont shatter! Shouldn't it be taken up with Honda for coverage under warranty?

    I recall another post by a PW fellow whose tyre was burst on hitting eye cats in LHR!

    @raoaltaf
    this could have been fixed if u took attention when it started.proper way was to cover it with tape when it started and went to get it fixed near stadium.(tape prevent dust and dirt seeping inbetween)
    give it a try,go to shaan windscreen shop and check if he can still do something to stop it at this point

    Salam

    Screen of my old car also cracked but due to some stone hitting out of a nearby bus's tyre. the crack was similar to @raoaltaf car but it was spreading in two directions like a mustache. I got it fixed from stadium road. The crack was not repeaired but it never cracked any further.
    I think people parking cars under direct sun should atleast put the car cover on. It will give a lot of protection and always leave some gap in the windows. for air to circulate

    @raoaltaf
    that was quick
    sent a colleague with city 2003, charged him 1200 i think but i guess the crack lenth was shorter.
    crack expands with temperature difference. in extreme heat turn to defoger and put full AC on and see the whole windscreen crack in minutes LoL

    super natural or ET....
    Whenever a bird shits on my car, I eat a plate of scrambled eggs on my front porch just to let them know what I'm capable of...
