    Default 95 civic diesel conversion possible?

    i had a debate on an earlier thread as to whether a 95 civic can be fitted with a diesel engine. I do not know much about that but i have herd of it being done a couple of times.What id like to know is that if its possible or not and if its practice.As converting into cng compromises performance and running on petrol is just too expensive. TY

    lol thts everyones reaction, justified as well but iam just exploring options iam actually between the B18C1 and B18B1 but they along with turbo and other mods are costing me quiet a bit. I can put them but then as i use my civic to get around everywhere i know ill regret later. Diesel is expensive i agree but as i said i DO NOT want cng in my car and those engines are going to drive my pockets dry... any alternates?

    @scorpion80...i think civic's engine bay & chassis is not that weak afterall....if the new corolla can handle a 2.0D then i bet civics can do that too coz i dont think indus make different chassis for there diesel varients...n specially 95 civics have very strong chassis making it a very heavy car (with a curb weight of 1038 kgs with corolla xli 976 kgs)

    U'll be needing to literally re-designing the chassis to install a diesel in civic...n after tat only the scrap yard will be the place where ur car will end up coz no one will buy a diesel civic...its a disgrace to this brand (for this i m sure)

    comin back to the topic..at one place u say u need turbo n all..this means u need a performance package in ur car..on the other hand u directly go to diesel....pls clarify wat u exactly need outta ur car? asmooth relaxing ride tat takes u from a to b??? or a roaring revving maniac machine....in both case i dont think diesel fits as an option (atleast in a civic)..

    guyz pls correct me if i m wrong

    i completely see your point of view and agree with it. Iam not putting a diesel engine in my car this was just for information purposes cause i had a debate over whether it can actually be done or not.

    @charlesmanson87
    You can use toyota 2.oD engine in that but believe me its wast of money CNG and diesel are almost same in this time of Era in pak so its better to stick with its original engine and install CNG in it other then that if u swap diesel engine in ur car it will give u so much troubles like foundation ,Axcels,mounts,shocks etc u name them and they are there :p as honda dont give diesel engines in there cars bez they cant handle
    so much weight and vibration which came from diesel engines

    @suzuki1...i've seen 88s n 90s civics diesel converted....civics are more heavy-weight then corollas buddy..they have stronger chassis...u can put a 1.5 sohc & can also put a d18 variant or mayb an H22 which is a monster in its own class.....but diesel engines make more vibrations n noises i agree...but surely civics can handle tat

    @c4capricorn
    yar if 10% ppls are swapping diesel engines in civic ..rest 90% are not.. then what u think its successful or not ask any person which car is best for diesel conversion im dam sure 95% ppls say toyota why ??? bez they can handle the vibration and load of diesel engine there not only engine in swap other things are too.. as u see ppls doing diesel swaps in Honda's then mate around the world ppls do many thing it dose not mean that every project or engine conversion is successful i hope u understand my point.
    Thank you!
