    Hi,

I have Civic Exi Prosmatic 2006, done 23000kms on petrol. Recently got it converted to CNG from Caltex.
The kit is LR with LR Emulator & LR Advancer STAP17.

As far as the running is concerned there were 2 problems.
1- Slow idle and dropping rpm on CNG.
2- Slow / no get up and go.

I took my car to CNG Solutions, who inspected my car and pointed out that they would have installed other electronics instead of LR. They made some adjustments and the car was performed much better except for slow idle/ dropping rpms.

After reading feed backs of different civic owners on this forum I took up the matter with my installer that the car needs a MAP-2 advancer, which they agreed to provide. After installation of MAP-2 advancer the RPM are 900 and stable on AC and in gear. However the car has become much more lazy than with LR advancer.

I just wanted to share with all of you that cars like Honda Civic Prosmatic needs special electronics (advancer) all will not work.

If any body had similar experience pls share and advise.

    @itsme

I think there is nothing wrong in going for a prosmatec on cng. I would strongly recommend you to buy a VTI prosmatec and put on CNG.
The one I had run absolutely great on CNG and it was a marvellous experience driving it.

Since I sold it more than two years ago and since I bought it with CNG installed I do not know the brands of various cng devices as I never cared to know.

But perhaps I was lucky and the car was 'THE' car.

Also if you see what I said earlier on another thread (https://www.pakwheels.com/forumreply_az_TopicID!85014~ForumID!10~pw.html)

there was one speciality with my car though. It did not have an Electronic Switch to shift between CNG and Petrol. That made the car run on CNG all the time.

I may deduce that since these cars tend to correct the idling speed themselves as well having the car always run on CNG (even in winter it did not give me any problem) has the added advantage that the engine tuned itself to it.

So the car wont start on petrol and baffle the system with its dynamics.

    Well, perhaps!

it would be much better to sell the civic and buy a new xli and cng it,auto civics are a pain in the *** when u cng them, and all ur precious time goes into setting the damn setup up,for those of u who dont have that much time...better to buy xli and put cng,it performs much better

    Guys,

I have wasted days setting up my EXi Prosmatic. Its now as good as on petrol; Ingredients are
    - Landi renzo kit
    - Landi renzo emulator
    - Neotek MapII processor
    - Block air intake by 70%

    Try it,

    Hi guyz,

i just wanna say that honda civic is not manufactured for this purpose, its a car meant to be driven on petrol and not this ****. I have 04 vti prosmatec and 07 oriel prosmatec and both r on petrol coz civic is not supposed to be treated like this.

But yeah if u r going o install cng on it then u will have to say bye bye to performance and engine's long life.
VTEC did not kicked in ooooo
