    Default Civic VTi Spec

    Does anyone now what the Pakistan spec of the Civic Vti 1.6 saloon is. I am wondering whether it is the same as the UK version, which is 1.6 with 160 hp, and is very quick. This model was produced up to 1998. From my visits to Pakistan, the bodyshape is exactly the same. Can anyone help?
    Regards,

    Ahsan

    bro i am a huge fan of civics.i have got two 2003 vti oriel and 99 vti.Both r excellent cars with incredible performance in its class thanks to vtec engineering.The biggest difference between uk spec and pakistani spec civic is that pakistani spec has no catalic converter which makes it more rapid.cat converter is a box that converts harmful gases and is fitted on the exhaust system.

    to correct you 96KW equals to 128HP not 130. Its 130PS (japnese unit) while
    1PS=0.986HP

    also, what we're getting in pakistan in da VTi SOHC, which is considered pretty lowly among vtecs, whereas, mostly (i said mostly) everywhere else, da civic vti is powered by a VTEC DOHC engine. i think the type has the VTEC stage 3 (or is it level 3) engine.

    ne VTEC fans might wanna check out this URL : http://www.leecao.com/honda/vtec/index.html

    Thats a good website for Vtec info.
    So potentially our VTEC SOHC engines are of the same power as a normal 1.6 DOHC without VTEC.
    Interesting thought. I guess for Pakistan it is good since the economy of the car has more emphasis than the performance for the majority of the market.

    Thanks for the feedback guys. In the UK they come with standard 1.6 vti as well as a 1.8 VTi version which has 170 bhp. Check out my 1.8 Vti in the members rides section. Let me know what you think! I love that car, very fast and smooth. I wanted to import it to Pakistan but the tax is ridiculous! I hope they change the tax situation, real shame you can't drive the cars you want in our own country. They don't seem to stop the Americans coming with all their tanks...!
