Default Urgent: 2000 civic color in registration book

My friend is going to purchase a 2000 model civic exi auto. While checking the registration book, the color that is mentioned in the book is "C Silver' but the color of the car is golden. The seller says that that is the name of the color code by the company.

I want to confirm if it is true. Is there any way that the car's real color can be determined by looking at the chassis number?

I am thinking this car was originally silver which has been repainted as golden. But on the other hand I have checked the body but there is no trace of silver anywhere.

    What do you guys think?

I saw the car yesterday. I checked the engine compartment, the color is golden but has faded a little. That I think is normal for a car that has been driven over 100,000km. Then I checked the trunk. The golden color has faded on the rear edge and I can see the primer below it, but no trace of silver color.

If someone has a 2000 Civic in golden color, I would appreciate it if you could look up the color mentioned in your registration book.

    Thanks

C Silver Stands for Cashmere Silver which actually is golden, so there is nothing wrong with the color, they just gave it a fancy shmancy name, but to answer ur question it is an original color

Ok. guys now the mystery deepens...

My friend checked the pillar and it says DK. Gray!!! Now what do you make of that? Now if the car is Cashmere Silver and it is registered as Cashmere Silver, why does the sticker say Dk. Gray? I have a 96 Exi which is Silver and the sticker on my car's pillar also says Dk. Gray.

Now this is getting really confusing. Could it be possible that when the car was manufactured, they put the wrong sticker on it?

    LOL
Thanks @hash4u you solved the mystery. By the way it reads "INT Color Type K DK. gray" obviously the INT stands for interior.

Actually what happened was that I was checking the Honda Service manual and it says that the paint code sticker is on the pillar. So I thought the sticker referred to external paint.

But obviously the service manual is meant for cars manufactured in the US. For some reason, Honda Atlas seems to have their our own formats when it comes to such things. Same goes for other things like the chassis number.

    Thanks again.

Well my friend bought the car, although I wasn't in favour of it.

It seemed to me that the car had been patched with some quick fixes to dispose of it quickly. Some things didn't really add up regarding the condition of the car. For example you could remove the keys from the ignition without turning the car off. For a car that has been driven 68,000 km (as per the seller's claim) that is too much wear on the key and ignition. Color of power steering pump and compressor showed that these items came straight from the junkyard.

I asked my friend to stay away from this car although a couple of people he knew had recommended it. My friend is an impatient guy, he didn't want to go through the trouble of looking for another car. But anyway, I hope it works out for him. I will post the pics as soon as he forwards them to me.
