No matter what they do, I'm sure this Honda will have better road grip than the existing Corolla.
Not only does it look like a spaceship, but the Corolla also handles like one. In the new Civic, the front pointing downwards and the "spoiler" built onto the boot should create sufficient downforce to keep the car stuck to the road.
I read somewhere that the new placement of the side mirrors has decreased air resistance by 10-15% in this part of the car, which should contribute to less wind noise while driving. Honda engineers initially planned to introduce this in the 2001/2002 Civic but the designers chose to test public sentiments with the City/Fit/Jazz before experimenting with the established Civic brand.
