    Default No civic or corolla does 200 km/hr or over

    Every1 says dis cuz they own a civic or a corolla. Yeh, civics in Pakistan 1.6vti from the showroom just have over a 100 hp. Corollas have more lower end power but less higher and less hp but more torque. In america civics have 115-125 hp and in Japan 157-135hp. Even they dont go 200 or over. Actually there is one way doing 200 on a civic or a corolla if the speed restrictor is removed or changed. I aint got the time but this would require some research. Over here in England it costs about 500 pounds 56,000 rs to get a car chipped. If u note both the cars get stuck at 140 km and then really really slowly pick up speed. Bmw m6 is resticted to 150 mph and can never go over 150 unless retricted. The restrictor is a corolla or civic is probally in the cdi, exhaust, it could be almost anywhere even in the speed meter. Its a fact, usually cars with over 140 hp go faster with their speed meter removed (they also have a restrictor).
    If u derestrict ur car u can actually blow up the engine cuz zthe rpm keeps on going higher and higher if u keep the accelator down.
    OFF topic: it would be good it peoples cars are rated like 1-10 good to bad. and stuff like that. And top cars on the front page.

    errrr, PAKISTAN ZINDABAD!!! NO RESTRICTIONS!!! EVERYTHING STREET LEGAL!!! lol. man, i've seen the challan form of my friends 1.6 GLi, when he was clocked at 211 km/h. ur american and european cars are usually fitted with stringent catalytic converters which reduce performance. no such thing in Pakistan

    the rpm dont go "higher and higher" to blow up engine. there is this thing called rpm meter which is telling you when to change gears, and in this particular car shown is engines rev locked at 8000 rpm.

    i8 aint sayin doin 200 or 260 is a big deal but on a civic, naa man. I got 4 friends wid civics the new one, 03 vti, 98vti, and another 98 vti. They all go to 140 then slowly slowly in 2 mins go to 160 then they almost stop. If one ever does manage to do 200 ill take ages and ull need some new piston rings on a new radiator. Topspeed is how fast a car can go in a certain distance not forever.

    @roshan

    I've driven a 2002 Civic VTi Oriel manual upto 210km/h on motorway while I was trying to get that F#@!$ing Lexus LX 470 with HID's...... that was my 1st time @that speed and my palms were sweating (january 2002)... so how come u say it won't go that far..... if u can pay for the tickets... I'll show u once more in our 2004 civic VTi (ofcourse when I'm back in PK)

    I think there must be something.My cousin has 2005 corolla diesel,he said the same thing to me about a week ago when he returned from Lahore via motorway.He said that his car didnt go beyound 140 KM/h... I joked with him.Just 2 days ago we went to peshawar and he said the same thing.In between he did get some checkups of his car.

    Looks that either i and Roshaan belongs to SAME SCHOOL of thoughts...!!! No offense

    Most civics/corollas in pak that do 180 km/h plus do it on a downhill gradient , furthermore I do not have faith in the speedometers back in pak. All speedometers have a built in error (read optomistic) and I think speedometers on pak cars r more optomistic than most. It would b good to get a top speed verified on a handheld gps. 200km/h plus is seriously fast for a little family economy saloon. Ive seen similiar speeds on cars ive driven in pak and owning cars in the uk with nearly twice the bhp i real doubt those speeds were accurate.

    @ALL
    i think there are couple of things which can cause speedo errors.the biggest is the rims and tires.since a lot of people waana put bigger rims and tires on their cars, some time they overlook the fact that it will cause error in your speedo.so thats why they get a higher speed reading and they think that they are actually going that fast.
    i am not trying to say that you guys are giving out false readings.just trying to give an example.
    i am pretty sure all the bros. who are going for bigger size rims are looking into this and using the proper size tire(low profile) for the bigger rims.

    Krazee is right about erronouis meter readings.
    New Corolla 2.0D is not good enough to go beyond 140, its a common observation.

    Civic Vti and ALtis can do 200Km/h relatively easy.
    I have driven my spectra GV at 195 for 10 minutes at stretch after salt range. It was not a bad drive at all. Reaching that speed over 160 was not easy but possible. i touched 200 4 times for some seconds and thats it. Manufacturer has mentioned top speed of 180 for that car.
    In the end driver accounts for 50 percent of performance and balls on the driver accounts for 100% of that 50% contributions in the total performance

    I remember doings 180++ on straight road in 86 Corolla lot many times 10, 11 years ago.. now wat was that..? supposedly that was japanese 1.3 litre stock car.. so i think its highly unlikely that there is kinda error in pak assembled cars..

    @ Roshaan,
    You said the cars hardly went to 140 and then took ages to go to 160. Lol! surely this is to happen if your friend had put the car into 5th gear at 80Km/h tell him to keep the car in 3rd gear till 140 and then the 4th till 180, then u will c how the car booms from 140 - 180, change to 5th and 180 and u will c the car go eaily beyond 180,

    Restecpa!
