Default Toyota Cars Exposed Under Heavy Rains !

hey guys, my car altis cruisetronic was standing inside our house and my se saloon automatic was standing on the road when khi got haevy rains. As the level of water on the roads rised and raised above the door levels both of my cars got flooded with water frm inside, nw my basic qs is tht although the se saloon is old nw, how can the new altis have water leaked inside, isnt it a big manafacturing defect? And i wud be pretty thnkful to u ppl, if u cud give me any remedies on how to soak the water frm inside cuz although i have cleaned it a lot of times the next time i open the car, its present there, cuz i feel the car has absorbed a lot of water, plz tell me hw to get rid of tht stinking smell tht has crept inside and also hw to clean the carpet of the car.

Same thing happened to a 2009 XLi in my apartments and a 2007 City was also filled with water. I guess its because of those stoppers that are fitted badly on the car floor.

take out everything and put it out in the sun do dry. painful for you to see the car being undone this way but i guess that is the only permanent solution.

Buddy i feel sorry that happened to your car. My understanding is that all cars are not water sealed from below and if they stay in high water long enough water will creep inside. My suggestion is get all what u can out to dry in the sun and for what you can not use those extra absorbent shamies such as "ShamWOW". i am not sure if its available in Lahore but its worth the effort to look for one.

    Hope this helps.

buddy l think its time to stand up against these manufacturers. i have read abt consumer courts why dont u sue them. few months ago i read in newspaper that one of the consumer court in lahore gave a verdict within three months in favour of the consumer.
secondly take the car to toyota as it should be under manufacturer warranty.
if not then u have to follow the instructions given by wajih 102.
    wish u goodluck

well i got the same problem happend with all our 4 cars. Mehran is an exception, well it took me 5 min to pull away carpet. new Gli got water inside the parked car aroung 6 - 8 inches, reason as i figured out is the tracker installtion. We dont know where and how many holes these gays did in installing the device and also if they had pulled out rubber plugs of the car, did they place them back? well there is a big question mark,. Water rushed in in our CL3 parked. reason might be the holes done at the time of cng installation. Well brother, you can hand over your new cruise tronic to toyota ppl just as i did, they will make it shine and smell like new as they have promised.

have the car stripped and cleand correctly (remove carpets and seats etc)

ran coudl have come in form anywhere since water always find a way into the smallest holes.

did the water come in from the door gaps or somewhere else? i'd suggest that when it is stripped you get inside and have someone spray water at it from every andgle to see where it comes in from and then have that problem rectified.

There are holes in the floor for drainage of water If the rubber seal of that hole is not perfectly placed or unfortunately not present than this happened. plz remove ur carpet drain the water from same hole and seal it.

Guys.........its not a manufacturing fault. Cars cannot be made water tight. somehow it will leak in from various areas around the door or the floor or from where the cables run under the dash....even the high end SUV's are not water tight. they can withstand water may be for few more minutes but not more. Yes bullet proof and armoured cars are more water tight but they are out of our normal stock category. One of my friends E200 was flooded with water in pindi last year.

For stinking smell i would say the best way is to take out everything from the car and clean the mud under the carpet and then put all back, i know its a tedious job but this is what u can best do. i would suggest wait till August end and then do it.
