    Default ]]]]] Problems in New 2009 Corolla

    NOTE: Only 2009 Corolla Owners

    Discuss the problems that you have faced with your 2009 new corolla. I am not here to solve them but let's see how many 2009 corolla owners are satisifed with their car. Only Corolla owners comments will be accepted not honda fan boys or anti-corolla peoples.

    [toofast edit] This is not a Corolla/Civic comparison thread. This thread will help future car buyers. I would recomemend same type of threads for Civic, Baleno or any other car owners too. All Civic or non Corolla owners please stay out of this thread. i will delete any stupid/unrelated replies from this thread. We need input from current gen. Corolla owners only. Thanks

    owned by one of my friend. 2 issues, interior quality is cheap... pale and dull look from inside, doesnt really look like a 2009 model once u get in.. low end torque in 1.3 variants is an issue. otherwise as he says its far better than the outgoing model (Y)

    @NASFOREVER

    It depends upon driving. I think you are a comfortable driver like me that's why.

    Otherwise the car testers usually focus on sporty drive, handling, performance and they notice that eps is not good in corolla.

    Even the brakes are good if you drive normally at the road following the rules and regulations of road. But we people start racing on family cars and that lead us to accident or even death.

    I don't get to use our Corolla that much because in London. I drove our's in Dec 2008 and did notice it is far better than the previous one. Our's is Altis Cruisetronic SR and felt every feature was of good quality. The fact is our cars are never used as street/drag racers. If you use it as a everyday drive it won't have any problems. Just don't try to see the pick everytime you get behind the wheel.

    this is frm a friends behalf who owns a 08 new xli(which i checked nd posted 0-100kmh vdo)

    he says the the 1st thing is brakes.on stock tyres the brakes tend to jam even if u apply a little bit more pressure then normal.he says that inside the cabin u dnt feel that hard braking is done,but on the outside the tyres start to jam....1st problem

    2nd is the very common one,the inside door panels r almost gone...i mean the finish on them.it has alot of scratches on it,color is dull now nd looks very bad.

    speakers dont give a good sound quality as compared to the previous xli (i dont have a hint about this one)

    these r all his words,not a thing frm my side.
    well some ppl dont like eps but i love it,nd rollas eps was softer then my city's one.so i liked it.may b its softer bcuz rolla had stock tyres while my car had 195s.

    @internal
    dont consider my post if u dont want to,but i m sure it wud b helpful to some future buyer...

    I'm the owner of new Altis and I've booked a Gli as well which is expected to arrive in October 2009. I havent found any major problems in this car yet.. May be because I dont try to take the speed to 140 km/hour normally.. Anyways, the only problem I feel so far with this model is that we cant let the service people wash the engine with pressure water due to some electronic device installed in the engines of both Altis & Gli 2009.. This precaution is being given by Toyota Company itself that we must be very careful while washing the engine.. This device is damn expensive and its highly vulnerable against water.. Xli doesnt have this device, so there's no problem with it.. I'm not sure about new 2.0 D Saloon, whether it has this device installed or not..

    And one thing that I really hate about Corolla is that 1.3 and 1.8/2.0 CC cars have the same look & shape as far as their exterior are concerned.. Getting exactly the same shape whether u spend 12 lacs for Xli/Gli or u spend 18 lacs for an Altis; I think its totally unfair with the one who is spending 18 lacs.. All I want to say here is that Toyota should change the shape in 1300 CC category like Honda has done with City & Civic having totally different shapes.. One must not enjoy the same shape when he is spending 6, 7 lacs lesser..

    @internal_auditor: Yes good idea bro, it can be hatchback models of XLi/GLi.. Whether hatchback or not, but there should've been a difference in 1.3 and 1.8/2.0 categoes (shape wise).. Corolla's 1.3 cars should look a little smaller and comletely different from Altis and 2.0 D Saloon.. Just like City is entirly different from a Civic..
