Corolla GLI..96...EFI....It would work great with CNG and it will require...minimum of alterations....almost none..get a whole engine with a Gear Box...old....gear box will fit but it would give you trouble after 6 months or so....so get the engine complete with a gear box.

hi samihaq. i live in pesh. i asked the price of gli engine 4AFE EFI in shoba bazar.they said if i give them mine 12 valve 1300 cc then that engine will cost 15000/- without computer. when i came to the mechanic he told me that computer and all the sensors wud cost me abt 2000/- plus 1500/- engine fitting. so the whole engine cost round abt 20000/. and there was another engine 1600cc 4AF carburated.it cost 16000/- just fitting needed.

you guys seem to be on the right track with your suggestions. May I please add here (from my experience) before you choose the type of engine (injected / carburized) you must also consider your CNG kit, if it made for a Caburized engine it may not work properly with a fuel injection system unless you change the electronic switch, pressure gauge etc (the kit itself will work with both) anyways this will cost you some extra money so do bear in mind.

    Dear Tauseef AoA,
Could I request you a favor. Next time when you visit the Shoba Bazaar could you also check the price of Mitusbishi Lancer's Shock Absorbers (Front and Rear) as well I am looking for Original Japanese (preferably Mitsubishi) 6" round / standard speakers. Thank you in advance for your help

well.. it all depends how much money u r willing to spend in your AE71. You r probably running with a 4A-C SOHC.. I will personally go with a late model low milage 4AGZE engine. This engine makes 165HP stock.. is basically a 4AGE engine with a supercharger that powered the late models of the first generation of the MR2's. You can get one of those engines with trans, ECU and Harness for $800-$1500 in Japan.. i dont know how much would it cost u in PK.
You also have other more modern options like a 20 valve 4age gray and black top, a VVTI black cover 20 valve 4AGE or a good old 16 valve 4age that for pakistani should be a racing engine.. DOHC, 1.6liters, high compression rate and EFI of course.
Dont get a carburated engine.. they r not efficnt and obsolete.. is like buying a musket when u can get an AK47 for a little more money.

Thanks everyone for really nice suggestions, specially tauseef.guys it looks 1.6 Gli efi is the best choice here, tauseef the price u told does that include whole engine i.e along with gear box?.
But a little thing dont u ppl think that 96 model engine is a bit old, can a bit higher model be achieved, what was the last model of gli 1.6 newer to 96 or was it the last model of gli 1.6.

    Salam
Sami i doesnt matter whether the engine is 96 or 2000. it depends on its condition. u shud take gurantee 1st the engine shud not consume mobil oil 2nd it shud not make any irratating sound etc. Actually these engines r called kabali. these r imported from Japan in containers via Afghanistan. most of them have mileage between 15,000 to 40,000 km's. and the engine i talked abt is with gearbox. and razaksyed tell me your cars model, i'll try to find out. but a funny thing most of these shoba bazar people dont know abt cars u have to bring and show them the part then they will find it out for u. OK

thanks tauseef. Please tell me some few things
1.how much time will be required to install new engine.
2.Please tell what are the parameters to be checked in the engine i.e oil consumetion or making noise. What are other parameters.
3.how can we check that engine is in good condition or not, the only option which seems is to install it and run it for a month or so and after that if it does consume oil or make noise then come to peshawar again but will they change the engine ?
4.tell me what is the model number of 1.6 Gli engine.
5.Can u tell me the name of some good mechanic means engine installer and the name of good engine seller.
i appreciate your help in this regard.
    Thanks

    Salam,
I also agree with all the rest. Gli's engine is the best but that EFi Cng kit factor is very important. I have heard that a person used an old, not properly configured and two valves of his Gli's engine were rendered useless. He got a new engine installed from peshawar, the same GLi's engine for RS.16000

    salaam
i think 2 days time will be required. Actually the engine will fit in 3-4 hrs but then to set the engine is the main thing, which requires time. i think these two maj problems( noise and oil consumption) shud be noted. they will start the engine in front of u but mechanic u have will know how the engine is after u put it. and u shud take a guarantee from the engine seller for 2 to 3 weeks but if the mechanic is good he will come to know on the spot if therz any problem.model number??? These engines are 4AFE all that i know.
Mechanic that i go to is Shakoor. Hes infront of the airport runway. this place is known as TUMBUAN. its on University Road. Shakoor can take guarantee of ur engine and will take u to good engine seller and will help u till u r satisfied.OK
