    Default XLi coolant issue

    Hello,

I have recently replaced my corolla xli's brakes, intake manifold & clutch.Earlier it didnt eat coolant at all but after this service,it's fastly eating coolant.Like the service was done 1 month ago,I filled out the radiator & its reservoir completly & now today, reservoir is totally empty.

Whats exactly going ? Surely no leakage.

    thanx

Just check for leakage at intake manifold coolant pipes, there's no water pressure in those pipes but they circulate the water.

Bro whenever mechanics touch ur car, check all clamps and pipes. They mess those up. My guess is that it is a loose clamp or a bent/damaged pipe.

1.Do check the Interior of ur car, i.e under the carpet for any leakage from the Heater.
2.Ensure that ur Radiator cap has not been swaped by the mechanics.
3.Ensure that all the hoses of the cooling system are properly connected. BTW did the mechanic dis engage any of the cooling sytem hoses?

it could be due to a faulty radiator bottle cap, or a worn head gaskit.

next time you ge t a chance, fill it up, drive the car, allow it to reach operating temp and then check under the hood for leaks (steam).

Most culprit points to check the leaks.

    1. All rubber hose pipes and the point where they connect.
    2. Radiator cap
    3. Where upper radiator tank joints with the fins area of the radiator
    4. Water body

Leaks can easily b checked if u have coolant in ur cooling system. If its water, u may not get the idea

100% coolant damages the cooling system.
use 50% mixture or premixed coolant.

Its recommended to use 50% coolant and 50% water. Mag88 is right.
