    Default CNG in Altis Automatic

    I have finally got my Altis converted on CNG.I will be updating you very soon with the pics of the car and the milage on the cylinder. So far the performace drop I have noticed is less than 5 % and I am able to take the car to 150 easily without any trouble.I will be updating the 0-100 timimg. It was less than 10 seconds with petrol.
    The cost of the setup is as follows.
    Landi Renzo EFi Kit + Switch =11500
    LandiRenzo 100/2 STAP &
    LandiRenzi Emulater =5000
    Fabre 55 litre Cylinder= 35,000 (Inflex 55 is available for 23,000)
    CNG Stand without holes= 1,000
    Close loop System (Lambda Control) with servo motor for controlling the flow of CNG. Getting its input from the Throttle Position Sensor,Oxygen Sensor and Coils.=12,000
    Installation Charges=3,000.
    The good things is that the car can be tunned easily with the help of the computer or even without computer by simply following 4 step procedure.

    If you walk away from your car and don't look back, you have bought the wrong car.

    Dear Sir,
    I have a civic exi 2005 and had installed a LANDI RENZO KIT , fabre cylder , and ztronic emulator and advancer , but they did not give me any lamba control (oxygen sensor etc ) , what is that ? , should I get one too ? will it improve performance? please let me know. I am not very satisfied cause the performance drop is more than 20%!

    Well Lambada-Close loop system can be installed in any other vehciles also. The benifits will still be there. Cause it can still adjust the flow of the gas comming in and out depending upon the position of the throttle and the coil signals. The shopkeepers are also fitting a oxygen sensor in the cars without lambad but I am not sure of its effectiveness as its not sending the signals to ECU but only to the Lambda control Kit.

    @Veyron
    Lambad Control processes the signals from the lambda sensor, ignition, throttle position sensor TPS and holds in memory a lambda sensor tension value corresponding to the stoichiometric mixture that needs to be maintained for every operating condition of the engine. The lambda sensor in the exhaust manifold indicates the mixture ratio and continuously sends a value of voltage to the Lambda Kit which checks whether the mixture is correct by comparing it with the value set in memory; if there is a difference, the computer will drive the linear electromechanical actuator, suitably changing the rate of flow of gas until the mixture comes back into the lambda stoichiometric value. The main functions of the LAMBDA CONTROL SYSTEM include lambda emulation, a diagnostic and programming system by means of a special Tester-Programmer to control carburation and conversion optimization, petrol starting with automatic switch over to gas on deceleration with overlapping, an electronic safety device that cuts off supply to the LPG solenoid valves if the engine stalls, a built-in system to cut off petrol injection
    You can get the complete details here.
    http://www.landi.it/eng/prodotti/scheda_prod_met616170000.html
    The only difference is that I am unable to get the Landi-Renzo System and have to go with the Axis System.

    xain, thankyou for the detailed info. I'm not a technical person, I just wanted to know if the Lambda control system improves the car's performance/starting on CNG, or does it improve consumption? I'm interested because I just got CNG installed in my Corolla GLi, it doesn't have Lambda control system but the pick and starting are good.
    Regards.

    @Veyron Well it will improve the performace but at the price of CNG consumption. Like u see that in your car you have one constant adjustment of the CNG where as in case of lambda control your CNG supply will increase when going uphill and will decrease when its not required. where as in case of normal CNG kit you only set the things once. If you are happy with the current performace than its not required. Also since the Lamda Sesnor is not given by Toyota in GLI so u will not be getting the 100 % benefit of the system.

    I have done some speed tests on the car with Petrol and CNG and here are the results.
    Car: -ALTIS Automatic Stock -Except tires which are 205/65/14
    Road - Last part of Constitution Avenue. The part after PTV that goes straight till the end of mountains. There is a slight inclined on the road.
    Weight in the car - Two Adults + Full 55 L Cylinder
    Driving Mode- Economy (NO ECT)
    Petrol timings (0-104 Km/H) (4 Km due to tire difference)
    Going up the inclined - 12.04 Seconds
    Going down the inclined-10.02 Seconds
    CNG Timings (0-104 Km/H)
    Going up the inclined - 15.20 Seconds
    Going down the inclined-12.10 Seconds
    So Guys these are the new figures. Without CNG installed the figures on a smooth road is something like 9.8 Seconds. (Since it’s an auto not a lot in the hands of the driver.)

    @Spectra.
    Toyota people dont put Lambda Control in toyota also now a days.
    Initially when it started in Toyota Islamabad they are putting it. But the quality of Kits were probably pathetic and the toyoya Islamabad probably had some issue with the Guy who is fitting the CNG and they kicked him out and bought the new fellow. And that fellow is now installing simple CNG's with LandiRenzo Kit + Emulater and Advancer but no Lambda control system.
    However the guy who has installed the CNG in my Car will be more than happy to install it in any car.
    But in your case the inputs will be the Engine RPMS and the throttle position and not exhaust gases.
    You can ask the guy yourself his name is Razzaq and he is in G-10. You can give him my reference . His number is 03009544670

    @Nashit.
    No OMEGA or IGS Systems. I would love to install one if possible in my car. I have talked to LandiRenzo people in Italy also. But they are hesitant to give it in Pakistan. Initially when I have inquired some times back in August 2005 they told me that it may be there at the start of 2006 but now they are saying we may or may not shipped it to Pakistan in the Mid of 2006. But the chances are pretty less.
    Also I have come to know that they have reduced Omega CNG kit from 2 stages to 1 (Dont know what it means) that will help in bringing the price of kit further 33 % down.
    @levin Ok sir I will try to find one.

    Yes it has become pretty expensive and wonder if it is worth it.
