    Default CNG in Altis Automatic

    I have finally got my Altis converted on CNG.I will be updating you very soon with the pics of the car and the milage on the cylinder. So far the performace drop I have noticed is less than 5 % and I am able to take the car to 150 easily without any trouble.I will be updating the 0-100 timimg. It was less than 10 seconds with petrol.
    The cost of the setup is as follows.
    Landi Renzo EFi Kit + Switch =11500
    LandiRenzo 100/2 STAP &
    LandiRenzi Emulater =5000
    Fabre 55 litre Cylinder= 35,000 (Inflex 55 is available for 23,000)
    CNG Stand without holes= 1,000
    Close loop System (Lambda Control) with servo motor for controlling the flow of CNG. Getting its input from the Throttle Position Sensor,Oxygen Sensor and Coils.=12,000
    Installation Charges=3,000.
    The good things is that the car can be tunned easily with the help of the computer or even without computer by simply following 4 step procedure.

    If you walk away from your car and don't look back, you have bought the wrong car.

    Total cost of CNG kit as posted by Xain is Rs 67,500, and according to the avergae consumption for Altis, car could have been driven about 11,800 KM for that much money. Is it really beneficial in the end?

    @Xain
    Please tell me if I can install this Lambda Control kit in my Honda Citi IDSI manual transmission.
    Will it work on my citi?(As far as I can understand, you mean a Lambda sensor should be pre-installed in one's car) I do'nt know whether my citi has such sensor pre installed.
    Please also tell, does my citi Idsi needs an advancer or not?

    Sir you are right looking at the price and my consumption. I can have a fuel for one complete year. But I am planning to have this car with me for around 10 years. And believe me From Rs 6 per Kilometer to Rs 2 per kilometer is a big relief.
    @addy
    The bhp of Altis is around 135 . Its 100 Sae-net (Whatever that unit means.)
    @zahoorasif
    Sir yourcar does not have a lambda sensor. The installer will still put the cloose loop system that utilizes the lambda however the full potential of the system will not be utilized.
    As far as city is concerned it the most advanced engine in locally manufactured cars. Like 8 spark plugs and thats why the tunning of this car is most difficult on CNG
    You need to check that your car is properly tunned on CNG or not cause cities properly tunned are giving more than 160Km per 55 cylinder.
    If you walk away from your car and don't look back, you have bought the wrong car.

    i have got one installed yesterday in my spectra as well.
    there is a mrked difference in performance and there is no hassle of adjustments on CNG from now on, although i have learned a lot on my own car by making adjustments whenever needed

    will post pictures soon. i am in process of checking mileage which i hope will be better because car is giving a very light feeling with very good throttle response, which is a sign of optimized combustion.

    For Performance:

    Use Petrol

    For Economy:

    how much did it cost Spectra bhai? I converted my car to diesel cuz the stupid CNG kit was so difficult to keep tuned with my automatic 5A-FE. i rarely travelled more than 140 kms on highway on a 60 cylinder. The local consumption with A/C was around 90 kms per 60 cylinder. Travelling 90 kms for 280 rs was not worth it. and with 4 ppl and the A/C on, i could have pushed it faster than it accelerated.

    bhai mileage was around 2 to 2.25 Rs. per Km before the kharcha
    Lambda sensor is bolted to the exhaust manifold after some kharaad work, that is the only additional sensor.

    And kharchas are getting done from my committee

    i got the package for 15000 which includes a new venturi as well. Now air flow is optimum for both petrol and CNG.
    i might need another visit coz i do have some reservations about performance, but its not a big difference, some fine tuning needed.

    this is the prevailing rate in the market, 15, 16, 18 depending on type of car, once again spectra has somehow different functionality and it needs a different type of programming of the stand alone computer, so this is the price i had to pay.

    I got it done from Al Mubarik CNG G-10
    they have good equipment and good staff.
    This was there first installation in a spectra and the man just did it in one go without any problem. Good job done indeed.

    Congrats Spectra .This is really great News. Waiting for the pictures. Is this close loop system of PVR or Turi or Arixis.

    On the Technical side of the things do u really thing that the lambda thingy that you have installed is actually doing some work.
    The thing that I really love about you is your inquisitiveness. (Probably in terms of Agha3000 Chull)
    I think you should experiment by disconnecting the black wire of the lambda sensor to the unit also. Because you see as per my limited knowledge the close loop system motor comprises of 3 signals.
    1- From the coil
    2- From TPS
    3- From Lambda Sensor.
    and in case of your spectra (Your Spectra and U Spectra pretty confusing na )
    there are only 2 signals.
    1- From the coil
    2- From TPS

    Yes the shopkeeper has installed the Lambda in your Spectra also but since the actual signal is not going to the ECU it will not be capable of making any changes or do u think that only the wire from lambda to the loop system will make it work.
    I think if this is the case than its really good cause we are basically able to convert a car which actually don’t have any feedback mechanism about the fuel mixture ratio to the car which has a feedback mechanism about the richness or leanness of fuel.
    What sort of programming have been done by Almubarik fellows.
    If you walk away from your car and don't look back, you have bought the wrong car.

    @robin

    I think Altis has it's own lambda sensor while Spectra hasn't. @Spectra has been charged extra for the Lambda Sensor installation

    @xain

    I think the CNG emulator (working as new ECU for CNG only) has nothing to do with your car existing ECU. So the @spectra's setup will also work...
