    Default CNG in Altis Automatic

    I have finally got my Altis converted on CNG.I will be updating you very soon with the pics of the car and the milage on the cylinder. So far the performace drop I have noticed is less than 5 % and I am able to take the car to 150 easily without any trouble.I will be updating the 0-100 timimg. It was less than 10 seconds with petrol.
    The cost of the setup is as follows.
    Landi Renzo EFi Kit + Switch =11500
    LandiRenzo 100/2 STAP &
    LandiRenzi Emulater =5000
    Fabre 55 litre Cylinder= 35,000 (Inflex 55 is available for 23,000)
    CNG Stand without holes= 1,000
    Close loop System (Lambda Control) with servo motor for controlling the flow of CNG. Getting its input from the Throttle Position Sensor,Oxygen Sensor and Coils.=12,000
    Installation Charges=3,000.
    The good things is that the car can be tunned easily with the help of the computer or even without computer by simply following 4 step procedure.

    If you walk away from your car and don't look back, you have bought the wrong car.

    actualy lambda does work. motor steps are controlled and it shows on the computer when attached.
    Its PVR and seems to have made a lot of difference. fine tuning is necessary to determine the good setup of motor steps, coz spectra is the first they are installing so ideal combinations are not known to them.

    Now only if there computer shows false information, then we can say that lambda does not work. On the screen it seems fine without any connection to car's own ECU.

    @Testdriver
    u r spot on in your analysis. Altis has a Lamda sensor and mine had costed me 2500 Rs. extra + a new venturi so i think i have got same deal as Xain.

    after proper fine tuning, i will let xain hava drive. it would be a step down for him after his altis but i need his valuable comments for sure

    @Spectra.
    If its showing on the computer than it means it is generating the signals. Which is positive. Actually I have this doubt but you have removed it. This is really a cool news. I will definitely like to check but the best test will be your trip to Lahore without the adjustment tool and we can see that depending upon the quality of the CNG gas will the servo motor allowing the more flow of the Gas.
    This is really really a good news. Now the behavior of car should have really improved and now the thing to check is that does it has any adverse effect on the consumption or is it compensated by allowing small flow of CNG when not required. But defiantly its a great enhancement in improvement of CNG pickup problems and now the pickup is comparable if not uptopar.
    @testdriver
    After reading the comments of Spectra I totally Agree with you.

    Xain bhai
    pick up and throttle response have increased very noticably. no hickups on low revs, no backfire ( idread that happening and very good response with AC
    Consumption will show a marginal change towards the netter as lights are telling me.

    You are absolutely right about the real test. it will be tested next weekend coz this weekend my dad is taking his corolla to Faisalabad

    Liana's system is actualy much better then this system. it supplies gas to all four cylinders through seperate injections. After Market fitting is very expansive at this time. Around 125000 Rs.

    @ZahoorAsif
    As per my knowledge(From this forum) Liana is using the OMIGAS CNG system by LandiRenzo.
    OMIGAS is a lambda based system and one generation ahead of this system. But the basic principle is same there are only few changes.
    Like we use three different units.
    1-Advancer
    2-Emulater
    3-Lambda Close Loop System
    where as in Omigas all this functionality is provided by one unit.
    Secondly the CNG reducer is more advanced and smaller in size compare to the one we use.
    Thirdly there are injectors build in which makes the utilization of CNG more efficent (and controlled)compared to the Venturi Setup.
    But in principal the most important thing which is feedback system is available in both the systems so the differnce is not that great or even ignorable

    Is that system available in the market cause initially it was not available in the market.
    Also if we dont have a good CNG fitter with precise tool the injectors system fitting can harm the engine.

    I am not facing any such problem. But the problem that u r mentioning can also be a fixed by increasing the gas flow at idiling speed also.
    In any case its better to have the lambda control. In case u want to save the money its better to increase the idling gas flow.

    Yesterday I saw advertisement in daily Jang from Adam Walton Motors. They have started the CNG installation and claim to be the biggest place for CNG Installion. Also they claim to have most qualified staff and check/adjust all the installations through computers.
    I phoned them and found they are installing Tomasito CNG kits with some cylinders company from Brazil (I don't remeber the name, actually never heard of the name before).
    They were asking Rs.17,000/- for Lambda control kit.

    Kkool visited my house on saturday at 7:40 am and got his lambda Kit back

    @zahoorasif
    Computerized CNG adjustment is possible only in Lambda type CNG regulation, and the bigeest advantage is the permanence of settings. Once an ideal combination i programmed, there is no need to get a 17 spanner and adjust at every tuning

    I have a 2006 Altis manual with 7,500kms done. So far I have driven it on petrol but now inclined to convert to cng. However I have reservations about the performance.

    Can you please tell me if I will need to install lambda sensor or it comes as a factory-installed device in Altis.

    Also will the lambda sensor increase the pickup? what about the consumption? Can u please advise what is the consumption with lambda.

    I see no reason why ANY pakistan assembled car would EVER need high octane, specially in a corolla. People think high octane because it cost more is better for their cars, what a joke. Unless your car says high octane required, your wasting your money and if anything making your engine work harder. It takes more work to get high octane fuel to combust. People should be educated about this. An Altis definetly does NOT need high octane petrol!!~~

    @Mazher.
    Lambda Sensor is factory installed in Altis but you need to connect it to the CNG Lambad conrol unit.
    Lambda Sensor will make sure that you wont have any pickup issue.
    @Shanni248.
    After Lambda you dont need to do any adjustment as Lambda is a self adjusting equipment.
    @Yoboy.
    Well the primary reason for the High octane is that may be it contain less lead than the normal fuel. As Altis has a 3 way catalytic converter so its better to use a fuel with less lead.
    Also Altis required fuel of 89 Octane. Whereas HighOctange is around 92 octane. and Super os 87 octane. Toyota Indus recommend using a mixture of super and hioctane.
    I have heard that few people have encountered knocking problems with Altis using normal fuel but I am not sure.
    I agree that high octane is more suitable for Domestic Japnese cars like Vitz , JDM corolla and Camry . As their manuals clearly states that a fuel of 92 octane is required.
    If you walk away from your car and don't look back, you have bought the wrong car.
